Nightmare stared up at David curiously, a shoelace dangling from his mouth at such an amusin angle that Skyheart had to chuckle.

David bent down and took the shoelace from his mouth. "I'd get you a few toys to play with so you don't destroy my shoelaces, but I'm afraid that you little kittens won't be here for that long!"

"Ohh, can't we keepthem for a bit longer." Dan said, still playing with the kits.

"What does he mean...?" Skyheart asked, bewildered.
Nightmare bounced around David, tumbling over his own clumsy kitten paws. -
Keith frowned. "Well, I was hoping that he wouldn't mention it..."
David shook his head. "We can only keep them until they're old enough to be given away." -
Nightmare flopped down.
Skyheart froze. "G-Give them away?!" -
"Aww." Dan (what sound is it? Hmm...)

Keith winced. "That's how it works... whwn kits are about 2 moons old, if the Twolegs don't want them, they might give the kits away to another family of Twolegs. For most of us who have been born in the care of Twolegs, that's what happened when we were young."

"No!" Skyheart jumped to her feet. "I won't let them take my kits."
