The recently enlarged group of Avengers were now gathered in a different conferencing area, although this one was miles above the ground, in the heart of a top-grade S.H.E.I.L.D helicarrier. Fury had been about to speak again when he paused, listening to a voice through his earpiece. "Director Fury, Loki's been sighted." Fury listened intently as the agent quickly gave him a precise location. Fury nodded one last time and turned towards the team. "No time for a briefing, folks." He suddenly became very serious. "Suit up."

Loki's elated expression was illuminated by the flames. They were everywhere, fed by the remains of the buildings that the Asgardian had destroyed. The bright glow danced off his armor and helmet. Staff in hand, he grinned maniacally and sent a neon blue bolt at another building, which collapsed. Loki was surrounded by large, heavily armored forms, each holding a foreign-looking gun. He turned to admire his work, but his smile faded at the sound of a familiar voice. "Going somewhere, Rudolph?" Stark asked, mocking Loki's unusual helmet. The Asgardian sneered, looking both amused and disgusted. "Ah, if it isn't the Avengers," he speculated, a small grin on his face. "Let me count," He held up his fingers and listed off the six original Avengers. "So, you're all here." He stood still, continuing to examine the six supers, but suddenly... -
Loki cried out in surprise as something big tackled him from behind. He was pinned on his back, staring into the snarling jaws of a white-furred wolf. The knife-sharp teeth snarled at him, and Loki barely had time to lift his staff and block a fierce bite that otherwise may have taken his head off. Tony smiled pleasantly. "I see you've met one of our new members." Loki struggled for a few moments before throwing the wolf off. His armoires friends hissed in shock. The wolf jumped back onto its paws, growling menacingly. Loki forced a laugh. "New members? I see..." He raised his staff readily, his eyes searching for other enemies. Abruptly, the entire scene darkened and became quieter. All the fires had suddenly died down. "To control fire," Loki mused. "How interesting." It was then that they sprang into action. However before he could say any more, the sneaky prince was caught off guard again. His eyes widened in surprise as he stumbled backwards, looking as though he'd been punched in the gut. Which he had. Recovering quickly, he muttered, "Invisibility..." His eyes darted around almost frantically now. "Clever..." His gaze caught a ripple to his left. In a split second his arm shot out. "But not clever enough!" His pale hand closed tightly around something. A cry was heard, and Raven's form became visible. Lucy shot out from where she'd been waiting. "Raven!" Their eyes locked onto each other's for a half-moment before both Loki and Raven's image rippled once...twice...and disappeared...
