Floodkit squeaked, jumping back. He was too slow, though.

Floodeye hit the kit, then sheated his claws again. "Guess you learned nothing at that clan of yours. Look, i am giving you one more chance, don't mess it up, or you are dead, you hear me?"

Floodkit nodded.

"Good." Floodeye walked back to the rogues.

Floodkit followed.

"So, what's your name?" Floodkit asked as if he didn't know him.

"Floodk-Slash." Floodkit meowed, remembering his new name.

"Slash, huh? Sounds good." Floodeye roughly sauashed a bug under his paws.

Back at camp, Blizzardstorm was going crazy with worry. He had gone through half of all the tunnels yowling for Floodkit. Now, though, he was exhausted. More from necessity than want, he fell asleep. In his dreams, he saw Floodkit and Amberkit walking away from him, and, no matter how fast he ran, they were getting farther and farther away.

"Where ya going?" Jade asked, getting to his paws and following Finchbreeze. -
Finchbreeze hissed. "I smell kits on you. Get away, you've already had a mate. I'm going home."

"You smell- Oh! I was taking care of my sister's kits earlier."
