"If they've already searched here, they probably won't come back. I think we'll be safe...or at least safer than outside."
Unless an army was waiting for them upstairs. Everything was possible right? -
"Yeah.. I guess I should really go up there. But I need a light." Rithe sat down in a corner. She stared at the floor, breathing lightly.
"Were you serious when you said you didn't do that? The thing back at the last house?" -
"You don't have to. If they were up there, they would've come down by now. No need to worry."
All he remembered from that moment was the floor, where his eyes had locked on since the moment he'd fallen down.
"I was. Trust me. Maybe......you did it?" -
"Yes, but I need to check, anyway.. I don't like not knowing." Rithe sighed, looking up at Marcus. She blinked in surprise. "Me? How in god's name would I do that? I'm not you."

"It makes sense....you know, the first time I did magic was when I was really angry. And if they'd kidnapped me for my powers....maybe you have some powers too?"

Rithe felt her eyes grow wide at what Marcus said.
"No way. That would be so cool!" she said, grinning hugely. "Right? What if I could do like.. everything you can do. That'd be awesome." she felt herself getting excited at the thought, but that couldn't be right. She'd been angry before. This had never happened. -
"Did you feel anything....different? Did you do something?"
The first time he had done magic he had felt that magnetic feeling for the first time in his life. Though, he had not paid much attention to it at that time. -
"Did I feel anything? What, aside from scared? There were like twenty guns aimed at you and me. I didn't do anything. I screamed like a little girl, if that helps." Rithe scowled at the floor. That's right. She'd forgotten. She looked like a baby.

"You must've done something because..."
He took a deep breath.
"It wasn't me, it wasn't the woman and the soldiers won't do that to themselves so....IT WAS YOU." -
Rithe blinked.
"I told you what I did. I swear that's all. There was nothing else. I don't think I did anything special.." -
"Oh come on. You've done. I'm pretty sure."

Rithe gritted her teeth.
"Screaming and hiding. That's all I did. That's all." she repeated. -
"Screaming...wait, maybe your scream did that? Maybe all of your anger caused....your scream to do that? Just like how anger let me do my first magic?"

Rithe stared at Marcus for a long moment.
"My screaming?" she repeated dumbly. "You think so? I have to scratch my throat raw to do anything special?" -
"I don't know. But it's possible."
