Marcus just sat there helplessly. Thinking about Rithe. Her hug...her worrying about Marcus. Well, she was just worried, as she had been for that stranger woman. It didn't mean anything.
Never supposed to. -
(Goodnight, Mari.)
-
Though she was nearly certain no one was around anyway, Rithe checked the entire house over. She wasn't going to be the one to settle a disabled Marcus into the house just to get his brains blown out. After she was satisfied the house was empty, she headed for the door, with more assured steps this time, having already tripped over and, in doing so, locating most of the hazards on the floor. She crept along to the side of the house and found Marcus, still sitting there. With a sigh of relief, she crouched down next to him again.
"The coast is clear. In you go." she said, and dragged him to his feet again.
I don't know when you'll be on, but whenever you're ready to continue. x3 -
(Yo. I'm on...............................)

(TAKE THIS PIECE OF MEAT IN ALREADY. I don't know what to say :3 ) -
Hai~
~and then they were in the house~
Rithe laid Marcus down on a tattered couch in the living room. She stepped back and looked him over again.
"I'm gonna go look for a light switch. Then we'll see about food and water." she mumbled, and started feeling her way along the wall again. -
(Hello there :P)
It wasn't full darkness, but the little light wasn't enough to see things without trying hard, therefore Marcus didn't bother and just closed his eyes. There wasn't much to see, just another ordinary house unless some soldiers were waiting in darkness......and Marcus couldn't do anything about it. He couldn't save Rithe. -
Rithe continued wandering the house, running her fingers along the wall and paying little attention to the floor until she found a coffee table she hadn't known about before- by tripping over it.
"GOD DAMMIT." she hissed, standing up again. She leaned against the wall again, and her hands pressed against a bulge in the wall that gave under her weight and pushed downward. Suddenly, the room was dimly lit by a flickering lightbulb from the ceiling. An oven, a fridge, a freezer, a table.. The kitchen.
"Ha!" she cheered, proud of her accomplishment. Using the little light she had now, she found her way back to the living room she had left Marcus in, and with the faint glow from the light in the kitchen, she was able to find a light here, too. She turned it on, and the light filled the entire room, dim, just like the one in the kitchen, but enough to see by.
"We'll need to see about new light bulbs... This can be our base for now." -
"Oh thank you. You're a hero."
Marcus grinned at her.
~And Rithe helped Marcus get to the kitchen~
(Less work for ya :P) -
~So I guess they're in the kitchen now.~
Rithe left Marcus leaned against the wall of the kitchen, and went to investigate the fridge. Upon opening it, she found that the light was off, and blew an exasperated breath out slowly to push the hair from her eyes again.
"The fridge is out.." she muttered. "If we're gonna eat this stuff, we'll need to do it fast, before it all goes bad." She pushed a carton of milk aside to look through the other contents. "Eggs... got some bread... Jelly... Cheese... Basic refridgerator b----es. What do you want?" she asked, taking the eggs out already. -
(Yes, using your godly story-skipping skills.)
"Bread for now....I'm starving."
* * *
When Marcus was certain he couldn't eat anymore, he pushed the plate aside and leaned back on his chair.
"I ate like a gorilla." The fried egg Rithe had cooked had tasted like the best food in his life. Maybe because he was too hungry, but whatever.
"Finally...I can move." He stood up, moving his arms and legs like an idiot. His energy was being restored. -
You did it first. :P
Rithe watched Marcus testing his mobility, eyes filled with amusement.
"That's good." she said with a smile. "I'm glad you're feeling better." Meanwhile, her headache had gone away, and the food had woken her up quite a bit. It was like restoring an alertness that she's lost years ago, even though she knew it had only been a few weeks since their hardships had started. -
(No. The godly thing was yours.)
"So....what do you think we should do?" -
xD Well alrighty then.
Rithe sighed. She really didn't want to think about that. She just wanted to sit here in content safety with Marcus.
"Um.. I guess.. I don't know. We barely got out of that last one. Do you think we could just... sit here? Just for a little while?" -
"Do you think they've already been here?"
Marcus had just been dragged all the time, with closed eyes. So technically his opinion was invalid. -
"I think so. The place is a mess." she mumbled. "I can't find lights anywhere.. Nowhere but the kitchen and here. I don't know what the upstairs looks like."
