He didn't really hear the rest of it. The murder... that sounded really familiar.
-
"You ok?" she asked, reading his facial expression.
-
He snapped out of it. "I'm fine." It started to rain.
-
"Ugh. Well.....back to heaven fro me..." Sera sighed, not wanting to get wet. She started to fly up to the clouds.
-
He watched her leave, disappointed. He opened a portal near the base of the tree and dropped down, still distracted by her story.
-
Sera flew up to the clouds where everyone was gathering. Why did he act so weird when she told him the story of her death?
-
In the terminal, a lot of the demons he shoved past would glare at him or purposely bump into him. He knew they could smell Sera on him, but he didn't care. Above the reek of death and fear, her scent pleasantly lingered on him and his wings.
-
Sera's friends huddled around her, either raising their eyebrows, or looking at her funny. "Ahem." said melanie. "What?"
-
However, it did bother him when one of the newer demons purposely ran into him on his flight up to his cave. The attacker and his friends snickered, watching Erasmus frantically pull himself back into a safe hovering position. He glided over gracefully to the other demon, and began pummeling him mid-air. It wasn't long until many others had gathered, and were cheering for the demon of their choice.
-
"You smell like death." Tiffany pointed out. Sera rolled her eyes and walked past them. "Whatever...."
-
It wasn't long until they'd taken the fight to the ground. While Erasmus had taken a few blows, it was clear that he was winning. Finished and a little disgusted with himself, he headed back up to his cave. He'd left the other demon in a bruising, bleeding heap on the ground.
-
Sera settled on her cloud, hoping that none of her friends would tell god that she was with a demon.
-
He settled on the floor in the back of the cave. None of the other demons would bother him after that. He had never been the most dominant demon, but after that, he was well on his way.
-
She laid down and closed her eyes, trying to remember the face of her killer.
