oh, sorry, i was a Christain, just giving a summary of what my life was like and why im against Christainity
-
Sel, you do have a choice. Trust me. Why do you think you dont?
Scol, where do I begin?
If you were atheist you wouldnt be learning anything in church
being able to listen to more isnt a bad thing. It's a complete picture and if your religion makes you shun or avoid anything, then there is already a fundamental flaw. If it's a public school, religion shouldnt be preached to begin with. And dont be afraid of people dissagreeing with you. It's a very petty fear to begin with.
Kish, I'd probably revert to inquisitional christianity. The iron maden, the wooden horse, and all those wonderful devices would be neatly arranged in my basement for those heretical non-believers. -
Because of how different Justin and I are. And because how different Eddie and Dad are.
-
oh ok but they dont teach anything. kids might just blurt out to a mean person and say "jesus messed you up" or somthing. or "you need help from jesus"
-
Sel, those names mean nothing to me. And even if they did, that reason doesnt make sense, let alone stop you from questioning your own beliefs. From learning more. From imagining a life without god.
Scol, so you're afraid to be insulted for being different? Shows how loving and compassionate god botherers are. And think about it, if someone else wasnt christian, you'd be associating yourself with those assholes. -
im not afraid of it but i prefer not to because i dont like to be insulted at all
-
so here's the question, would you if you wouldnt be judged?
-
i pick to not be insulted. same as before. not that im scared id just not rather face the problem...
-
Maybe I do have a choice. Maybe I'm just scared of it. Last time I questioned my religion, one of my classmates got mad at me. If the teacher had been present at the time, I probably would've received a referral.
-
that's what i'm asking. if being insulted wasnt a factor. Make your own choice and stop letting others make it for you. Would you, in a judgement free environment stay christian?
-
no...
-
why not?
-
because sometimes when they are saying things in church i somtimes dont believe them and i just read something that they didnt even tell me...,
-
motibutton NewbieDo all of you believe there are just Christians and atheists? There are other religions. In Buddhism, you don't even need to believe there's a god. In Hinduism, there are thousands of gods. Take your pick.

FLgirl92 NewbieIf you practiced Christianity correctly, you'd probably be more accepting and charitable, assuming you weren't already.
If you practiced Christianity incorrectly, you'd probably be more judgemental and be a complete hypocrite.
I personally don't think I'd be that different if I didn't believe in God or weren't a Christian. It's an important part of my life for sure, but it doesn't define me.
