Thread Topic: Opinions on Chakras, energy, and psionics?

Do you believe in chakras? Psionics and metaphysical abilities? What caused you to believe?
-
Metaphysical I can do,but I dunno what all that other stuff is.
I was originally raised christen, but then after being given back to my mother,I was switched to metaphysical and poitions and witches and stuff like that.Pegan(most likely spelled it wrong.) basically. -
James Randi is currently offering one million dollars to anyone who can prove any of those exist under controlled conditions. No one has ever made it past the preliminary test.
I feel that sums up everything there is to talk about. -
I believe in chakras but as an actual religion or following. I like to think of them helpful when overcoming physical ordeal with a mental aspect, or overcoming a mental aspect with help from physical activity related (like yoga)
-
What Ihlaoy said. He was a legend for proving psychics wrong.
-
but *not as
-
Hmm. Interesting.
-
I would prefer not to look at the scientific side of this, though. This thread is about religion, which is not scientifically proven either, hence why I put it here.
-
No, but I find it interesting. But I also don't know too much about it. I will soon, if I have time left.
-
Becauae he aint paying enpugh xD one million aint enough moolah to make that bulls--- worthwhile
-
Ihlaoy you're so closed minded - if it did exist did you ever think they haven't heard of this James Randi guy?
-
Shes also very logical and has a good point
-
Not really, as she is assuming that because no one has passed a test by this person this proves something. Ans is forgetting that maybe people dont know about this person to begin with, or maybe they don't want to prove it for whatever reason. Does not seem logical to me
-
I find it interesting to learn more about them, but solely for the knowledge, not for application into my life.
-
Look, I'm all for being open-minded, but that doesn't mean my head is so open my brain falls out. There has never been any scientific evidence to suggest things like chakras, ghosts, psychics or anything of the like exist.
Even if you didn't know Randi was offering money to prove these exist, why would you not perform a monitored test anyway? What better way to prove you're not a lying cheat than by convincing some of the most skeptical people on Earth, scientists?
If you could prove any of these exist, not only would you become instantly famous for confirming the supernatural, but James Randi would also make you incredibly rich. For what reason would you ever NOT want to prove it? Why would you NOT want to prove you're telling the truth?
Unless, and this is completely hypothetical, you know you're lying and could never stand up to scrutiny, and therefore avoid proper testing whenever possible.
