To lie, or to commit any sin makes us fall short of the glory of God. That is what easter time focuses on, our salvation from our wretched earthly skin.
A lot of people think that they are to bad of a person to go to heaven. They think that because they sunned so bad, that God will not want them. This is not the case, as although even one sin separates us from God, God has a salvation.
This salvation is Jesus. Jesus is God in the firm of a man, he is also God's son. Hod sent Jesus down to live a perfect life. People who were of the enemy and in sin wanted to have him killed, so he was nailed to a cross, with gouges and wounds, blood dripping like a waterfall off his back. He died in that cross, and took on all of the sin in the world, future, present, past, so that if we believe in him, ND his unyielding sacrifice, we are able to go to heaven.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him will not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Sorry for the ongoing explaination. -
I would.

adam123 NoviceNah, it's not that bad to lie, people do it all the time.
-
No but you're still a scumbag if you lie.
-
Well, lyong is bearing fakse witness against others, which is one of the ten commandments not to do, so unless you ask forgiveness, and continually do it all the time then probably yeah, but one or two lies here and there alone probably won't be enough to make you go to hell.

Not good to lie, but you wouldn't go to Hell.

paigequizzy NewbieWe as humans are totally imperfect.
Jesus was the only perfect human, and that was only because (duh he was Jesus) he was Gods only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary... on the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come to judge the living and the dead.
So God sent Jesus to earth to die on the cross and ultimately forgive all of your sins. He also sent prophets and gospel writers and such to guide us and give us his rules, like the ten commandments, the Bible, stuff like that. Like Alex3000 said, the eighth commandment, "you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.", clearly says "Don't lie." However, Jesus' death forgives all of the sins we commit, as long as we will accept that forgiveness.
In conclusion, you will not go to hell if you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. Anything we do on earth is irrelevant, besides accepting Jesus. If you lie and lie and lie and lie, you wont go to hell even if you only accept Christ in your last moments on earth.
Thx 4 reading, hope you are/become a believer! -
No that's not really how it works. I believe in a forgiving god who wouldn't punish people by sending them to Hell. Humans make mistakes and God understands that.
