I'm not disregarding them, Wendee. Actually I'm probably the most on-the-fence person here.
-
Alex's entire argument for religion is personal claims and a lack of evidence.

care_bear19 NewbieLook, I'm not saying God isn't real. I go to church, I grew up Baptist. I'm just saying that some things don't add up. I'm also saying that i disagree with a lot of the Bible and a lot of Science. For example, the big bang theory as you said. Things don't just come from nothing, but saying that also brings up the question "Then where did God come from?". I've asked this question and the only answer i've gotten is "He has always been" but.. things don't come from nothing. Also, there are a lot of different interetations of things said in the Bible. I think that there needs to be a balance of faith and science. You can't disprove science with God, because Scientists could make the agruement that they could disprove God with science.

God has always been always will be. He didn't have an origin
And than you bob, I need to know were my arguments are lacking -
The universe has always been always will be. It didn't have an origin.
Where is my argument lacking? -
Prove he exists with non circular logic.
Otherwise your entire argument is invalid. -
care_bear19 NewbieBut how. How can something or someone just... be? Also, question. How literal do you take the whole 'God made earth in seven days' thing? Like exactly seven days? Because 1 day on Mars is different then 1 day on earth and God isn't on a planet so 7 days to him could be seven billion years to us. Right? (this is an honest question because i'm curious. My mom says no it was seven earth days.)
-
you have no proof, someone could ask for some and you would be sunk.
I have proof if you would ask. -
care_bear19 NewbieSaying that God could just be, you can make the arguement so was the universe as bob said.
-
care_bear19 Newbiewe have been asking
-
quite a lot actually.
-
The universe has not always been, but God has. And no, God did not create the universe in exactly 6 Earth days, because it's exactly what you said, God has no time of the same sort that we perceive, so six of his days would equate to the entire lifespan of our universe.
-
Where is your proof that God has always been here?
-
care_bear19 NewbieWhat if God, was made?
-
Well for one thing, like I said, it's pretty hard to figure out another way our universe could've began, but I know what your response would be to that, "He must have come into existence before our universe did then," but I say to that that makes no sense, seeing as there would be no explanation to His origin, since something would've had to have created God himself, and it would keep going back for negative eternity, which in itself is completely illogical to assume that if it could continue forever backwards, why wouldn't they just have single being that would be for just as long? Also, the whole "Gimme proof or I don't believe" thing isn't a valid argument, since you have no proof that the version of evolution that is most commonly hold, or really any version, actually happened.
