the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.
I'm reading them bro. And the only difference I'm seeing is that one is taken much more seriously than the other. One has rules and warnings, while the other has a moral of the story. One has worship while the other has fans. One has fictional characters doing fictional things while the other has mostly debatebly fictional characters doing fictional things. -
s---. We're having too many late posts.

You need a new dictionary xD
Let me clear something up real quick, im not exempting theistic religions from my argument, but they are not the only things which are considered religions. Buddism taoism shamanism arguably hinduism (if you wanna get into that)really have no gods, and are very much religions -
And like i said man, atheism to be fair is pretty much a religion regardless of its origins. UU regardless of its origins pretty much has no god, kung fu is something of a religion
-
Bro, those fit the secondary and tertiary definitions of religion. I was under the assumption that we both knew the conversation was about theistic religions. Next time I'll be more specific.
ps. I literally just googled "define religion" and "define story" and pulled the definitions I posted from there. -
Atheism would be a religion if it had any structure at all. Calling atheism a religion is like calling bald a hair color. Or off a Tv channel.
-
Like i said, theistic religion isnt exempt from the things ive been saying, i just wanted to make it clear.
And its structure comes from the massive trend that is modern atheism dude. Literally, yes, your right. Its the absence of belief in deity. But they act in exactly the same manner as any other person of religion would. Its like a feminist saying feminism is a good thing based on its definition, and totally ignorimg the reity of how it turned out -
And how did atheism turn out?
-
It turned out to be the battle against religion largely. Like you said, regardless of the who is in or out of the majority, the loud ones are the ones by whom we define the group. Especially online.
-
And to be fair, the verbal sects only represent the petty battles and politics. While a more (traditional?) Atheist would realize that the same arguments had over and over have already been solved and move on. Which is why i refuse to identify with either side
