Being called a sheep means you blindly follow the shepherd and the flock. I believe because it's in my heart and I know the Bible and my religion.
-
I know Bob, I was agreeing with you on the disrespectful part, and it's alright that you're Athiest, I don't mind, and I'd like you no less. :)

tongue ExperiencedTruth is an offense. Wow. Ellis throws out some statistics and you guys have a cow. Criticize me all you want, I'm just stating an opinion. But I honestly feel that humans will only reach they're full potential once they see that God is a lie and that religion is a hinderance to reason. Maybe the word "sheep" was a poor choice, but I don't really care who I offend.

I believe in science because it is what makes sense to me. I envy people who have found a god because they have something to strive for; something to believe in. I would be religious if i could but I do not understand it. I get the idea of religion but i dont understand the faith. I may not have a god, but i have my own rules. And I guess you could say that that is my religion. I do what I believe is right.

Roe and ana do you really think an atheist can't believe in living a good life being kind to others and s---? -_-
Ork don't be saying you're ashamed to be calling yourself an atheist just cause of what one of them says. Do you know how many religious people should be horribly ashamed if thats how people should think, I've had some real crazy retard f---ers say some dumb--- s--- to me. -
I have stated my opinion and am going to let it rest. I refuse to take either side on this because I have forged my own side. You can agree with me or dissagree. My statement stands.
-
I'm religious but this dosen't offend me. I tolerate anyone's religious or lack of beliefs. I just prefer not to be put in the same category as all religious people.
-
@Tongue: Well if you have no respect then don't expect yourself to be respected.
@Ork: No need to be ashamed of being an athiest, and if preffer to have it by your own rules then fine, that's your choice, no one is forcing you.
@Ellis: I never said that, did I? Hell, I'm in love with an athiest I know! A lot of Athiests are good and true, but a lot are not! And I'm not ashamed of believing in God, and I'm not going to preach to you about religion, but if you have no respect for others beliefs then I'm sorry, but you're no worse than "The sheep in the flock" -_- -
Ya but Ork you are atheist so you can proudly say that and not have to be offensive about it and feel bad saying it. If anyone should it should be the nut jobs out there that try to force their crap down our throats.
-
tongue ExperiencedBTW I don't see how anything I say is an insult when I'm not directing at anyone and calling them petty names, the way some people around here do. I suck cock? Homophobic are we? Thanks for making my point for me.
-
tongue ExperiencedAlso turning the other cheek as Ork suggests, taking the high road, that doesn't work. Martin Luther King said no violence, and he got shot. Malcolm X decided nonviolence was the way to go, and he got shot. I say if the stakes are high enough, all mutual respect is dead and you gotta get your hands a little dirty and shake things up.

Late post.
Roe I never said I don't respect your s---, you can believe in whatever the fudge you want. Ana had said she believed in love good truth and wisdom as if the other people on the other side of her arguement didn't. You said "I would rather believe in God and be good and do good things and be honest and hard working then some idiot with nothing better to do in life then be a cock sucking imbecile" -
Do you know why they got shot? Because people thought the stakes were high enough. The only reason non-violence has ever failed is because of people like you who believe that violence is the only option left.
-
tongue ExperiencedI do just want to say I'm not advocating violence against people who believe in God. If that were the case I'd have shot up Columbine. Poor choice of words. But still, when so many people enslave themselves to something that will limit them, things that you would usually hold back need to be said.

There's no need for violence and there never has been.
