Blurred Lines -.-

Yes. It talks about cheating, sex, and sex addiction. All of which are very real and very common.
-
@Damask I've been noticing that you tend to live in this little fantasy world where everything's rainbows and unicorn. Horrible things happen in the world, either grow up and get used to it or get off your ass and make a change.
-
Personally I just hate it cuz it's terrible.
-
Ugh...that song >.>
-
Pffff there's no possible way for me to change this world. Or a even a small site called Gotoquiz. Why? Because no one even bothers to listen. No one cares. And no one can reply without attacking me just because I posted something they disagreed with.
-
Have you ever heard the saying, "You'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar"? It's basically telling you that you'll get a better response if you're pleasant. Telling people that they need Jesus, they'll burn for being humans, that they're mentally ill for loving others, and generally always being on the offensive, is no way to get responses.
You're complaining about all the negativity, narrow mindedness, and generally bad behavior in the world? Be the change you want to see in others. You aren't going to change this site. And with your current method you aren't even going to be liked. GTQ is a community first, a forum site second, and a debate forum last of all. If you're only here for one specific detail, then you are going to be generally hated.
If you're only here to debate religion, then go to a religious site. Not here. This may be the forum for it, but the forums are for people who are actively a part of the rest of the site. Not anally retentive bible thumpers looking for a place to spread their crap. -
Actually she has every right to discuss religion here. Most users don't even leave the lounge or stage.
-
Point noted Geek. Although I still stand by the fact that this place is a community first. And if your only goal here is to tell other people that they're going to burn, then you aren't part of the community.
Personally, my opinion of Damask is starting to improve. I've seen her defend newbies against douchebags, and I've seen her actively be a part of threads in the lounge and feel concern for why specific people are mad at her. Things that make her seem less automatonic, and more human.
With that being said, I think I can speak for a lot of us when I say that we still don't appreciate someone trying to shame us for being people, telling us we're going to burn because we don't agree with them, or trying to indoctrinate a narrow minded egotistical theism in to our lives.
So while I will acknowledge that she is becoming a part of the community, and that she's not the only one that clings to just one or two forums; she still attacks other users and tries to shame them. And that is more than enough reason personally to continue to dislike her. -
Also note the fact that nobody got through being without acting douchebagy.
-
It might just be me, but something about that sentence didn't make sense. Can you please rephrase it?
-
I left a few words out..... my bad.
Few gotoquiz users got through their newbie months without looking stupid. -
While I understand what you're saying and can see what you're getting at, hopefully you can also remember that those who made exceptional asses of themselves eventually were driven to leaving or had to work to make amends. Being new isn't a free pass. It doesn't give people the right to be asses.
-
Thank you, Geek! Exactly! By saying GTQ is a community, you are basically just making up rules. There is no rule that you have to be part of a "community" here. You have the right to participate in whichever forums you want.
Of course I'm going to argue!! When people say God doesn't exist, I'm not just going to agree to avoid "making an ass of myself". I'm not trying to shame them; I'm just standing up for what I believe. -
Also if I "accept" that everything is messed up in this world, I'll never make a change to anything. (Don't even start with the "no one respects you so you will never persuade them" because I'm not even talking about GTQ) I'm not one of those optimistic people who are like "everything's great and fine
everything is f---ed upand I'll make the most of thisf---ing horriblebeautiful world." I'm one of those people who actually wants to make a change.
