Thread Topic: We've come to the final conclusion
-
Aspergers, ODD, ADD, ADHD.
Anyone else in the same boat as me?Or a very similar kayak? -
I have some OCD and I'm usually hyper and easily distracted and I often "stare off into space" and have a lot of voices in my head, but I don't know if that's a disorder or anything.
-
I have mild OCD, without the rituals and thinking something bad will happen part. Also mild ADHD, but only the short attention span and the can never sit completely still part
-
Oh, I have some rituals and think that bad things are gonna happen if I don't do things a certain way, but I'm not like obsessive in cleaning stuff, but I don't want anyone touching my stuff. That's why I said "some OCD".
-
I'm pretty sure all of the disorders you listed don't actually exist. OCD does, I've seen OCD in action. My neighbor with OCD has worked on rehabing a house for 20 years, and it still looks like a f---ing crack den, because he cannot be satisfied. ADD and ADHD are garbage. Kids have short attention spans. Kids have trouble sitting still. Aspergers is garbage. ODD is the medical term for being an a--hole. It's all basically medicalization of personality traits that aren't "normal". The system wants its people to produce for society as a whole, so they tell you that if you don't like sitting still for long periods of time or don't play well with others that there is something wrong with you, and then they try to fix you with expensive medication.
-
I have Asperger's, and probably OCD but unconfirmed.
-
That's full OCD Meg. There are different types of OCD, and you don't have to do all the types to have it. I did a one- page report on it for health class.
-
So what you're saying tongue is all my disorders are garbage? That sounds waay too much like what my dad used to yell at me.
I don't use expensive medications, but there is an obvious big difference about me then other people.
But everyone to their own opinions, I suppose. -
Thank you Emma!
I have anxiety, but I dont like taking pills for something like that. I feel that you should face your fears, not try to prevent them. -
@Emma Really? That's cool! :)
-
ADD
Dislexia -
Nice! ;) All I did was go to school and do some chores.
I feel...lazy. :P -
@Cori crap, really?
-
I believe "normal" people have the real disorder here. They're too damn focused on the social aspect, and won't accept any deviation from the rules.
-
Meg- yea. This is what I found on the internet about the different types of OCD:
Washers are afraid of contamination. They usually have cleaning or hand-washing compulsions.
Checkers repeatedly check things (oven turned off, door locked, etc.) that they associate with harm or danger.
Doubters and sinners are afraid that if everything isnt perfect or done just right something terrible will happen or they will be punished.
Counters and arrangers are obsessed with order and symmetry. They may have superstitions about certain numbers, colors, or arrangements.
Hoarders fear that something bad will happen if they throw anything away. They compulsively hoard things that they dont need or use.
Just because you have obsessive thoughts or perform compulsive behaviors does NOT mean that you have obsessive-compulsive disorder. With OCD, these thoughts and behaviors cause tremendous distress, take up a lot of time, and interfere with your daily life and relationships.
