Who's mad? :3

Some of the posts on here seemed like they were angry posts.

Not mine. I just took the opportunity of this thread's subject to speak about some wonderful things I've learned lately. x3

I would just like to point out one thing.
Ignoring the ignorant people who are against it and have no reason to be, I'm going to adress the pride issue.
You are using the word pride in the way society has deemed it usable. Culture has misdefined the word pride and is using it as a headline to something that isn't even related anymore. Pride is something you earn. You can be happy that you're a lesbian. And fuck it, I'll be happy for you. But you didn't have to earn being a lesbian. It's no different than cultural pride. You can't be proud of an accident of birth. You didn't have to earn it and the word pride is being misused whenever you say you are.
Personally, I'm happy I'm an atheist. I'm happy I'm straight. I'm happy I live in the USA, and I'm happy I'm Italian and German. But those aren't things I'm proud of. Nor should they be. I'm proud of my accomplishments. I'm proud I was in the circus. I'm proud that my ghost hunting group is the largest in the state. I'm proud that I mentally worked myself up to the person I am today. But I can be proud of those things. I wasn't born with them and they weren't pushed onto me. I had to earn them.
And that's what I'm getting at. Gay pride is as ignorant a claim as American pride. Or Christian pride. You didn't earn anything by being a lesbian. Nothing about it shows any superiority and there's no pride to be had in it. I'm not telling you to be ashamed, I'm telling you that the two subjects aren't even related. -
if i offended anyone sorry, but this was a dare, and i do see all your points

tori109 Novice@ana, YOU ROCK! I love how you are so brave to tell people how it is. And angelic4, that was what I was trying to tell you, it was mean not only to me but to actual lesbians.....

I agree, Orkie. I've never liked how much 'pride' gets thrown around these days. .3.
@Angelic No problem, I understand. x3
@Tori Aw! xD Well thankies, I'm not looking for glory or anything. I just really want there to be much more understanding on this issue. :3 -
