Lake NewbieI'd love to hear (oh okay, see since this is the internet) your thoughts on modern therianthropy. See websites like Therian Wilderness for more details, if you don't know what it is.
So, what do you think about therianthropy? Anything you might think is welcome to be posted here. :)

I think that, like a lot of self diagnosed trash on the internet, it's special snowflake bulls--- made up by people who want to feel unique or accomplished but don't possess the drive or ambition to actually go out and do something recognizable.

^^^ yes all the way

Shape-shifting is virtually impossible. Humans have cherished myths, legends, and fictions to apply to their lack of difference, contrast, and escape from hard-boiled, solid reality. Self-awareness is one level of realization that they are not as significant as they assumed and desperation is the action they used to place themselves out there. Believing in shape-shifting is almost like believing in Bigfoot. They are both accepted by deviants but are commonly known out of the small sphere of maniacs as an urban legend for enjoyment.
Otherkin, or as a new spectrum of severe autism or mental instability that has surfaced on Tumblr, derives from therianthropy, but believes in having a spirit of a chosen animal that are vesseled in the human anatomy for other crazy/spirtual reasons they try to justify to ordinary normies. They are no stark differences from believers of resurrection or reincarnation. It's almost like an evolved epidemic of the Indigo Child. People desperately clambering themselves into a rank of importance or dissociation from the human race for self-asspatting motives by clinging on to religion or a certain dogma and repetitively tell themselves that it's the truth because they heard it from themselves (so it must be right!)
Enough with my rambling. Tl;dr, it's all generated retardation. -
I once turned into a piece of s--- when I was born and have never turned back since.
It's possible, just you can't reverse the effects. -
Shapeshifting? Cool, but it's stupid and it's just a myth. Humans have never shown any capability to shape shift into animals. The closest thing we have to that is genetic modification, but that has to be set into action before you're actually born since that's when the human body is most influential.

Lake NewbieSo it seems the general opinion is that these 'shifts' that 'therians' seem to go through is either
A mental instability
special snowflakes, pretending
Or a mix of both, perhaps.
So I've been researching this and have found other people saying stuff like you guys did. These are fairly widespread opinions, then. -
i mean, if you really want to believe you're an animal on the inside, even though i don't really agree with it, go for it i guess. i can't really stop you anyway. i think its the shape shifting thing that goes too far. that's a very wild idea and its a huge stretch. its just not possible. its a cool concept, for example i'd love to turn into a cat to avoid responsibilities, but i know i'll never be able to.

Lake NewbieBr0wnieBunny I agree with you, if you believe your (soul? Spirit) is completely or partly animal... so long as you're not hurting anyone... it's fine by me.
I would like to point out, however, that in my research onto this topic I have found many people identifying as Therian and agreeing that shape shifting is impossible, and anyone who says it is, is not really a Therian or Otherkin. The two seem to be the same thing, but Therians believe they are earthly animals, and Otherkin believe they are mythical creatures.
Again, this is just what I have found. There may be, and probably is, a large selection of information I have not yet come across.
Thank you all for posting your opinions,

Hi Therian, I'm Dad.

And i'm the gay dinosaur step-dad. I was a human once, but thanks to my shapeshifting powers I transformed into a brontosaurus.
