Thread Topic: Are humans "born" gay?
-
Today in English our teacher told us that some people are born gay.
We're reading a book in the class that involves gays so this is how the topic came up.Would the environment the baby is exposed to during the forming of the egg affect the sexuality? Some people believe that we aren't born gay. Do you think that it has to do with genetics? Or perhaps it's something we develop overtime? -
Dr Quiz NewbieIn what context are you using this word "gay"
-
Homosexual.
Males liking males, females liking females. -
Dr Quiz NewbieWell first of all you can't be born "gay" because "gay" people choose later in life to be "gay" it's not like a girls first crush was a girl because she was born attracted to females, No! when a person gets older and is exposed to more cultures and lifestyles there mind begins to warp according to what culture or lifestyle they are constantly taught is correct. So then when a person starts to grow into a young adult they are racing with you hormones and they start to have feelings toward another person and say a girl who was constantly taught that homosextuality was correct might see a girl who she thinks is cool and think that she likes her when in actually, she really only thinks that she is cool.
And as for people who claim they were born "gay". First of all, when did they start thinking that? And second of all, why did they start thinking that? -
That would be a sound theory Doctor, if there was anything to really support that. Say, if it only applied to a select type of culture, or even a select species. But it doesn't. Homosexuality is evident in 1,500 documented species. I highly doubt that "culture" has much to do with that.

I grew up attending a Catholic private school where I was very sheltered, and by the fifth grade I knew I prefered girls over boys. Considering how, at the time, my religion classes were taught by sisters who informed us never to have protected sex or sex before marriage or to ever lay in bed with another person of the same gender, I'd have to say that I don't think being raised in a certain culture is the only way a person can be gay.

Dr Quiz NewbieThe one thing that America seems to stand for more and more is culture and majority rules. So if the mass of people excepted it as right... besides America is a country that is very tolerant to cultures and excepting it as right. In fact just about every culture that is introduces to America is taught in schools as right because America "has to tolerate" all cultures. They can't all be right can they?

I feel like you really went off on a tangent there, but that was also slightly unreadable. So. I may be wrong about what I think you're trying to say so I'll just say I don't see what you mean there?
-
Dr Quiz NewbieWell you as a fellow girl should know that girls tend to do that. (Go of on a irrelevant tangent)
Give me some space and attempt to read each sentence as a individual because I forgot to put the each in there own paragraph. -
no girls do not tend to do that shut up
-
Dr Quiz NewbieHow would you know?
-
.....r u srs rite nao
-
I lost you like five posts ago woop oh well
But no girls don't go off on a tangent any more than anyone else might. Sh. -
Dr Quiz NewbieHaven't you ever heard of how girls and guys brains are wired two entirely different ways? You know, girls brain like a ball of wire, one thing leads to another. And boys brains are a bunch of boxes, when a guy opens one box's (subject) he sticks to it and when he's done he puts the box away before opening another one.

No, that's stupid as s---. It's called being scatterbrained. Anyone can be scatterbrained. It's not gender exclusive.
