Thread Topic: Are humans "born" gay?

In a way, yes.
-
Ok lions, glad to clear up that miscommunication

emmajamme2 Newbie"Also the amount of gays seems to be just getting bigger and I'm thinking maybe there's also an evolutional reason for that - to slow down the overpopulation issue."
or its that being gay has been continuously shunned throughout most cultures in the past and still is in a solid portion of the world today.as its become more socially acceptable recently the amount of openly gay people has increased. also, overpopulation has only so recently become a problem that we wouldn't have time to evolve as a species to stop it yet. and as james stated homosexuality is noted in over 1,000 other species so that disproves your argument on its own. -
Yeah I agree about gays not being accepted in the past so more people are being truthful about it - I didn't mention that. But the amount of gay people seems to have shot up so much in the last few years, I mean in a way that doesn't make sense that the only reason for that is because it's accepted now.
I don't really believe theres evidence that many animals are gay, I haven't heard of any myself -
emmajamme2 Newbiehow does it not make sense? the things you're saying dont make sense
-
emmajamme2 Newbiehttp:// en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexual_behavior_in_animals
-
Because it just doesn't. It seems like there's even a lot more gay people now than there was idk 20/30 years ago. And if there was the same number of gay people 100s/1000s of years ago then would it really of been seen as an odd thing for all that time?
-
Really well if wikipedia says it..
I'm not dismissing that it might be true for animals but it must be rare if it is. -
emmajamme2 Newbiethe population is higher than it was 100/1000 years ago. more people alive = more gay people.
you want to have a debate but you refuse to educate yourself on the subject. ok. -
Obviously I mean the ratio of gay to straight people.
-
emmajamme2 Newbieyour arguments are less fact and more "okay well maybe this is right so ill use that as a fact"
-
Hmmm really. It's true though - I can't believe the ratio was the same as it was back then, if it was then why would it have taken this long to be accepted.
-
One thing I would throw in there, is that it just doesnt seem like as many peiple are gay as statistics indicate. Like how many gay people does anyone know compared to straights? It doesnt seem like theres that many
-
I don't know, are there any statistics anywhere? Its true I think I only know 1 personally, but then I don't know many people. On TV it's different - it seems like quite often that I'm finding out someone else on TV is gay that I didn't know they were. Occasionally I think "he's gay too?!" Also there seems to be a lot more gay men than women which is curious.

Ok. I have evidence to back up my idea. Humans are born normal and then decided to become bisexual etc. My friend was straight last year and this year she decides she is bisexual. So what do you guys think.
