I saw her every night
Every night at the same time
She was always there
Comforting me
Telling me it was okay
Telling me that I wasn't the first
The first to have those thoughts
Those thoughts of wanting to die
She told me she had had them to
She always wore a cracked smile
Her face was the colour of the walls
White, pale, dead
She always wanted a hug
But I would flinch every time
You see
The last person to hug me
Was the one that dragged a blade
Across my heart
So I flinched
More than once
And few more times after that
Her arms were always wrapped in
Clothe
Sometimes they appeared red
The colour of fire
Other times they were
White
The colour of her skin
As the days grew into months
And months into years
I let her embrace me
Maybe I knew it all along
Maybe I was fooling myself
Bc the night I let her hug me
I knew it was over
And I knew she wouldn't let me suffer no more
You see she saved me
From a monster
That wanted to destroy me
And I guess
Those monsters only exist
In a place called earth
Bc here in heaven
It's much nicer
Calmer
She helped me
as I did to her
She received her wings
And I'm about to receive mine -
