Like, seriously. They tell you that money is the way to survive- and I know we need it. I mean, without it, no one would work for anything, and society would fall.
But telling you that you need a job but REFUSING to give you one is stupid! Do you know how many homeless people there are nowadays? It's all because they can't get a job when they want to. America shoves them out, telling them to move out of it's glory. I don't get it. We're letting people die because everyone else "deserves" jobs when they don't. If the president would only enforce a law that anyone is allowed to get a job, we wouldn't all be murders of innocent people. -

"I mean, without it, no one would work for anything, and society would fall."
I beg to differ.
What these guys don't add is that in a society where money isn't needed to obtain what you need or want, there will be no desire for money as it is obsolete.

Why not mail a formal complaint to the government? Unless you are not allowed to do so there...
Like here, its a dictator running the place so you mail a complaint, you die :/
Not sure about there... -
We should live like the Spartans. Ban all currency and luxury. Crime will end, for the most part, and there would be no icentive for us to be attacked, other than a country wanting to expand. But that's in the Middle-East for now.

You know, I'm going to refute that second picture, if only because I hate the idea that people are blaming their unemployment on 'da large corporations.'
If there's a gap in the market (such as a need going unfulfilled), that's because people aren't stepping up to fill the gap. Anyone can start a business. It's not some magical, ten million person, soul sucking machine. It's a person who noticed that market is missing something and stepped up to give it. And if the market truly needs it, the business will thrive and grow larger, filling the need more effectively. That's how the free market works.
Not going to bother with the first one though, because I don't want another argument and it all comes down to personal opinion anyway. I just personally don't believe it's correct.
And I'm certainly not going to touch Moyashi's post. I mean, it's not like Sparta had low crime because it was a police state where slaves did all the work, trade was entirely forbidden from anyone who was a citizen and everyone went through military training at the ripe old age of five. Also ignoring the fact that spartan's HAD luxery items, which were quite impressive considering the time period. -
Why does everyone assume someone hires you?
Freelancing for the win.
If you din't want to freelance hit the books and learn something. -
I always enjoy everyone's idea on the argument. :D You guys really know your facts.
Kishy, I dun think the governer would listen. -
So much for putting people first...
There is no such thing :) -
I think more people need to stop wishing for things to change and instead try to implant the changes they wish to see. We always complain about systems, whether it's the health care, education, or what have you. Sure, you might not be able to bring down such systems, at least not without widespread support, but every day we can make decisions to help others and to help ourselves. Support charities and volunteering, even if you don't have money there is work to do. Just treating people decently can make their days better.
We all have ideas and talk about things, but unless we can demonstrate them into helpful realities, they'll always just be ideas. I think we forget how well we have it sometimes when we think of all our problems and forget to be thankful for what we do have. Basically, if you do see work that needs to be done, then try to do it. -
Oh, you can succeed in capitalism. How else are there rich people?
It's just that your success depends on the inequality of others. -
Now that's a laugh.
Tell me, how does a successful business depend on the inequality of others?
I'm sitting here trying to comprehend how on earth you came to the conclusion that Capitalism is unequal, I just don't see it. -
In order for capitalism to work, you need people on top and people on bottom. Unless you're running a cooperative or the business only consists of you, you have to hire people. When you hire them, you pay them less than you make, for doing roughly the same amount of work if not more than what you do. That's parasitism.
As for cooperatives and solo business, they're not exploitative. If that's all we had, there wouldn't be much of a point in capitalism and money, would there? Without sucking the blood of the workers.
At that point you could just say damn it all and work for the benefit of all, instead of just you or your small group.
