This would normally be my domain but unfortunately my specialty lies in Canadian art institutes seeing as I'm also going into arts.
(Did you mean art schools as in high schools based on the arts or post-secondary academics but you don't want a college? If it's post secondary I found this list but ignore it if that's not what you're looking for)
I did however go on the rankings website for fine arts in the USA and I found that the University of California is amongst the top for art, along with California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA. There's California College of the Arts as well but you don't want colleges so *shrug*
And if you're looking for a secondary school of arts (high school) talk to Alice (Vegekaka), I heard she went to an arts school. -

HEY HEY I'M HERE.
If you live in Southern California, a really good (and new!) school for visual arts is South Region #9 VAPA. It's in the small city of South Gate and I'll be attending there next year.
It's REALLY good! In their first year they already have quite a few awards for their choir and some students studying art.
That's all I know about the school around here in my area though, sorry! ;w; -
Also, our academy is visual and performing arts. So it's not just art, it's also dance, theater, photography, etc.!
We also have STEM academy on the very same lot, which is for Science, Tech, Engineering, and Math.
And finally we have, also on the same lot, the International Studies academy. It's not open yet but their staff been holding some nice collaborations with VAPA! -
[choking back sobs because this poor little artistic sap never got the chance to attend an art school and the closest she will get before university is a part-time at a digital-arts academy]
