Because blue is the ocean. Blue is a clear days sky. Blue is the color a face turns during asphyxiation.

It might be because people see a lot of blue and thus get used to it(and like it). Sky, sea.

It's a favorite color, just like any other. ._. People like the shade of it. It makes them happy.

Blue is special. It's hard to find naturally in nature, at least in vibrant deep colors. Like mentioned, it's the color of the sky and ocean from afar. It shows depth, mystery and possibility. It's calming, cool and safe. It makes a good base. What is there not to like about blue?
