So what? Is that supposed to make you any better than people who enjoy some of the modern entertainment? So if I was learning English and said I'm so much cooler than others because I don't listen to any pop/rock or watch Hollywood movies make much sense? Not saying you have to like those things, but if someone's interest was first peaked over a song they like or a story they heard doesn't make them any less of a student of the language or culture. Whether you like it or not, modern creations are apart of the culture as well.

they're sayin they're not part of the "fad" they just happen to share an interest. in most cases it's bulls--- though :D
