This why the world tends to hate the US military.
Especially the people from below the border. -.- -
I can seriously understand why they do. :\
-
I hate the higher ups, but I support the troops.

@Ana
I share that opinion becaaauuusee..
In Catch-22 (antiwar novel written by a veteran) it pretty much shows that during the war they regret joining. Their officers kept raising the number of missions and later, they have to bomb a civillion city to make a roadblock and if they didn't, they'd discharge them and put them in jail :\ -
Exactly. :/ My dad is actually a pretty antiwar vet. Most of the soldiers were just normal people, who got used into war puppets for someone with more power's games. I believe in war for self defense, but the current war in the middle east was so mismanaged and messed up. We should have gone in and kicked the ass of the very ones responsible for the attack on our country, and went home, only aiding the civilians a bit, but not staying over there for a fuking decade. :/ Obama hasn't even ended it either. It feels like these soldiers' lives are being lost for nothing now. And that's part of what bothers my dad so much.

I just hate the stupid things they do though. I also hate how sometimes they tend to stick their noses into the business of other countries that isn't theirs.
I personally admire, though, their dedication and bravery. Really, they do some incredible things sometimes. -
I agree, I don't know why we get into so many countries' damn business. It's just stupid. Pretty much after WW2 and the Korean war our military skills and presence has been a giant screw up. :/
-
Yeah, it's been pretty bad from that. Back then the US military was one of the best around. Still kinda is, but the standards and performance level have gotten.. Well, uh, not so good.
Around where I live, the thing with Chile and the USA in 1973 is still pretty.. Well, I guess it still kinda pisses us off. xP
It's also the fault of the president, if I'm not mistaken. Not just the military.
And just to add to that, it also doesn't help the military when there are troops doing things as horrible are burning the Islamic religious documents and such.. -
Our foreign policy is a joke. That's why we invade other countries. :\
-
It's really sad. Me and my mom always say 'America's a pretty bad friend to have'. A fair weather friend. Like, 'Yeah let's be bffs forever man! :D' then a minute later, 'that means you do whatever we say, less us intrude in your country, and offend your whole people and culture'. Thanks, friend!
It really is kinda like Hetalia in a way. Even if we have good intentions, want to bring 'heroic' help, some of our people end up making things go bad. :/ -
*let, not less
-
@Hunter: You got that from Bowling for Columbine, the Michael Moore film. But yeah, our foreign policy over the years has been pretty f---ed up. We weren't attacked on 9/11 just because the terrorists "hate our freedoms". If anything it was an act of self-defense.
-
Yeah. That was a good movie :P
and yes, agreed with all of you. -
