I don't think he has done much to make things better, in fact we have a higher national debt. Now we hear that he is agnostic to raising taxes on those making less than $250,000 a year, going agaisnt what he promised on the campaign trail. Will politicians ever stop lying to us? O.o
-
Does this mean he's raising taxes on those making LESS instead of on those making MORE?
What the hell?
I thought that when people make more money, they got taxed more and when they make less money, they're taxed less. Anything different from that makes no sense to me... -
The Godfather NewbieI don't think so. Health care is still undecided, he had an over trillion dollar Stimulus Bill that actually lost us proposed "created jobs", he's asking for more than 2 billion dollars again to "create more jobs" when the last one was more than that, and didn't work, he promised no pork barrel spending and actually did with the Stimulus Bill (which included studying bears, fruit fly control in Hawaii, and ALOT MORE which by the way......how does all that "stimulate" the economy, is proposing socialist ideas to OUR DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY and if your still reading, which thank you, has taxed the rich even more than they were under Bush who we prospered economically from. He is ruining our country. If McCain was here, things would be better.
The only one thing he accomplished in 1 year was send the 40,000 to war. -
Demonjoe NoviceDon't forget how he said he was going to put the health care reform debate on C-SPAN.
-
The Godfather NewbieFine, but there has been a few, and it is still undecided. He is proposing an extremist point of view. To go from our health care to socialist? I don't think so. Where is America going? Gay marriage, flag burners, abortions, socialist health care reform? No doubt we need some reform, but not that.
I'm starting a new poll on that. -
tongue NewbieOkay, what were you conservatives expecting, really? Blame yourselves for buying the hype when you didn't know his policy positions or just figured out what they really mean.
That said, Obama hasn't met my expectations either. This is actually a left-wing point of veiw, too. He didn't provide any leadership on health care, and any leadership he can provide is too little too late. Worse even, he has muzzled the activists who can fight for his agenda. Hell, the grassroots organization that helped get him elected is controlled by the Democratic Party now.
That's not change we can believe in at all- that's politics as usual. -
tongue NewbieActually a few corrections needed to be made. Ana- Obama actually delivered tax cuts to those making under $250,000, the biggest middle class tax cut in history. If you truly believe in the supposed divinity of tax cuts, you're going to have to find another guy to criticize. Actually, Reagan and Bush Sr. are a good place to start. And Godfather, if he is still here- we prospered ecomonically under Bush? I must have been living in a different country those eight years. Last I checked, Bush encouraged an unregulated casino economy that led to speculation on oil and commodities markets, the collapse of the housing market, bank failures, and ultimately the current economic meltdown. You and I have very different definitions of prosperity my friend.
-
The Godfather NewbieCycles of economy:
1. Prosperity
2. Recession
3. Depression
4. Rebuild (financially)
Were we "rebuilding" our economy under Bush? Before him our last recession was many years before. And we certainly weren't in a depression or recession, so yes, I keep my case.
And actually my friend, people like Barney Frank pressuring and assuring banks make outrageous loans is the main cause for the recession and this was inter Bush and Obama.
If people get raped in America while he's president-does that mean it's his fault? No!
And what are you saying about hype and conservatives? I don;t understnd your wording -
tongue NewbieWell isn't that a wonderful economic model. I'm being sarcastic in case you couldn't tell. As for blaming Frank and letting Bush off the hook, the executive branch(Bush) holds all the regulatory power, and Bush did nothing with it. No matter what Frank's role is, there is no letting Bush off the hook. Any opinion saying Bush has no fault in the meltdown is propoganda, pure and simple. As for the correlation between the economic meltdown and rape- I don't see how that is at all relevant.
-
tongue NewbieAs for the quote of mine that is in question, I'm just asking what you guys expected of Obama. It's certainly not what I expected.
-
Obamas black.
-
tongue NewbieI probably will end up voting for Obama when he's up for reelection, just because I'd rather give him another four years than give the GOP four years to dig us deeper into this hole. Also I do personally like Obama, so it would be nice to say I voted for him. I would only vote for him if I think he needed my vote, though. If his reelection is a slam dunk I'll probably go third party, because I have been dissatisfied by his time in office, and I don't think he will change that opinion.
-
Frobama is still black though.
-
tongue NewbieIs that a problem?
-
No, I just like to say Frobama, it's Obama with an Afro.
