It pisses me off how much anti-Semitism still exists. It isn't neccessarily the hardcore stuff, but just regular people who "Jews run the media" or "Jews are greedy" or whatever. I take it personally, because even though it isn't my religion, that is my heritage that you're insulting. Yea alot of Jews are bankers, lawyers, doctors, work in entertainment, or whatever. So what? It just means that they strive for success and get it. Sorry if people have a problem with that, but they're just aiming their hate at Jews because they need someone to blame for their own lack of success or for their insecurities about their role in society (I'm thinking specifically about Christians with this last point). Maybe I'm oversensitive or whatever, but I think it's bulls--- that so many people just casually think the world is controlled by a Jewish conspiracy.

FLgirl92 NewbieI don't know an awful lot about Judaism. I do know of some Christians who think the Jews run the world or whatever, but they suck at being Christian if you ask me. I always remind them that Jesus was Jewish and that the Old Testament is the Jewish holy book. Really, what separates Jews from Christians? I think you hit the nail on the head, Tongue. Jews are successful in things like finance and entertainment, so they're a lightning rod for criticism. It has nothing to do with religious differences. The people I've met who hate Jews have usually never even known Jews, so really it is based only in ignorance.

I'm Christian and I love the Jews, and I'm always dumbfounded when 'my people' seem to hate them. FL hit it on the head, I would say. They're a group of people who are quite successful, so people who aren't are going to let their jealousy and hate out on them. It's wrong. I admire the Jews because all throughout history they've faced so much hatred and hardships, and yet continue staying strong and being themselves. I just wish the world as a whole would stop creating genocides and targeting demographics for once.
