The Godfather NewbieActually, politicians are some of the most highly educated people, so they do have a good vocabulary. And I am not even 18. I just turned driving age. What about you Hikaru?

I consider myself Independent because I don't agree with everything Democrats or Republicans say. And I think there are a lot of moderates who get overlooked because all everyone sees are the politicans on tv and in the media. A lot of "popular" politicans get the media that's why people vote for them usually.

tongue NewbieI'm obviously not a Republican, but I don't indentify with the Democrats because they don't get anything done. Also the Democratic Party is really fractured- Senators like Ben Nelson from Nebraska or Mary Landrieu from Louisiana are only Democrats because they aren't hardline conservative enough to Republican in those states. In reality, they aren't really in tune with the overall platform of the Democratic Party and aren't reliable to get major legislation through. I think there needs to be a major progressive third party to challenge the Democrats that is less inclusive. The party on the Right is a hardline party, and the only way to fight it is with another hardline party. It's sad that our political system has become so divisive and partisan, but it looks like that's the only way to get things done.

But Frobama's black.

tongue NewbieDude, if you don't have any insight to offer, you really shouldn't be here.
-
I'm not actually here, this is just the internet, so, ya.
-
tongue NewbieDo you do this just to piss people off?
-
Don't we all love that feeling of pissing someone off?
-
tongue NewbieYeah LOL just be creative cuz you've gonna to the "Obama is black" well more than once.
-
If I were to vote for a political party, I'd vote Democratic...but that's only because I'm definitely not voting Republican.
Besides, I'm not even 18 yet so I can't vote anyway. -
tongue NewbieI'd certainly be okay voting Democratic, unless it was a truly lousy politician, like the governor of my home state of New York, David Paterson. The Democratic Party in my state is a joke- half of the party is made up of black or Hispanic politicians from New York City who are arrogant, corrupt and self-serving, and Paterson comes from that stock.

Peter Principle NoviceHey tongue, don't you find it interesting that the Republicans are supposed to be individualists and the Democrats are supposed to be collectivists...and yet Republicans line up to vote as a monolithic block with no toleration for dissention while many Democrats break off to go their own way?
Who are the individualists and who are the collectivists again? -
tongue NewbieYeah, I think you hit the nail on the head.
