tongue NewbieI think as a long as you are a mentally stable, law-abiding citizen, you should be allowed to own a gun, with the exception of a fully automatic assault rifle or an anti-tank weapon. The latter actually I might be OK with, just because some people like to collect military weapons, but at the very least you shouldn't be able to buy ammunition for those kinds of weapons. I mean those are weapons meant to kill mass amounts of people. But, yeah, overall I'm pro-gun control. I believe in controls like background checks and having to get recertified for handgun permits and hunting licenses and that you shouldn't be able to buy a gun at a gun show. Anyway, those are my initial thoughts on the issue. I look forward to hearing your opinions.

I think it's best to be controlling them. Like, people could still have them, but there should be a huge process involved in getting one.
It also makes sense to have licenses and permits be recertified after a couple months like license plates. So they can make sure you haven't been killing like crazy. -
Demonjoe NoviceI pretty pro-gun rights usually, as long as the person isn't some insane psychopath like the guy in The Silence Of The Lambs I'm cool with people owning guns.

tongue NewbieIn some places your allowed to legally carry a concealed weapon(Texas.) What do you think about that?
-
I think they should at least be showing people a little that they're armed. Also not just for security reasons. People won't want to screw with you if they KNOW you have a gun.
-
tongue NewbieMy thought is that there isn't much reason to carry a weapon on you unless you are planning to kill people. It's not a protection issue if you have your gun outside of your house.
-
u can carry a concealed weapon in texas??? wow thats kinda sketchy. and i know im not mentally or emotionally stable enough to have a gun because i would either shoot someone or myself.
-
tongue NewbieOkay...

I'm...kinda pro and kinda con to it but I sure would love to hide a .9 mill gun strapped to my ankle in case of emergencies!
-
tongue NewbieI don't think I'd ever own a gun. I don't think I'd ever need to protect myself from lethal harm. I'm not really into gun collecting or hunting, either.
-
I'm not huge on guns...but I do like swords.
-
And shields with lambdas, eight-foot spears...

Swords, Knifes and Daggers, my way to kill.

The Godfather NewbieActually Apayipyip42 and the rest, gun control actually brings up the crime rates. According to a recent study in England, gun control brought the crime rate up in England as a whole. Either way, the wrong people are going to get guns just as drugs, so why not let the people who need defense for their families and homes their SECOND RIGHT- THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS. I rest my case.
