So, Trump sent 59 Tomahawk Misiles at Syria in retaliation against Assad using Sarin gas against his own people. Now Russia is getting involved and Syria is claiming that the sarin gas was never used by Assad and it was radicals. There have been a reported of 6 deaths from everything I researched and apparently, for some reason though I'm not sure this is true, China is also preparing for war? There was an emergency security meeting today to talk about what happened, and tensions seem to be high, as I'm hearing North Korea is also wanting to fight the United States. Again, that last part might be wrong. I've heard Germany, France, and the U.K. Were all for this action, but I've also heard countries such as Sweden were less than impressed. Basically, everyone is saying WWIII is gonna start, but if Russia, Syria, and apparently China are suiting up for war, are they really stupid enough to do that? Like any country is stable enough to go into war at the moment.
Of course this is a very watered down version, but I'm curious to know your guys' research on the situation. -
this place only cares about politics when they can stand on their soapbox or it only applies to their general impulses to pretend to be oppressed or disrespected by normal people
I am honestly confused. There are even assumptions that there were false flags conducted by Syria. People are running around and fearmongering about some WW3 commencing any minute know. Some of supported Trump's order because of Assad's mishaps and some have reprimanded it because of the fear of invading ourselves into a war where we are extremely irrelevant. -
Yeah, it's a whole s---show right now. It's funny, though; America has literally done a s--- ton of missile strikes against various places, kill way more than were killed currently as of yesterday, but now all of the sudden people care? I think it might have something to do with people disliking trump, but that's anyone's guess. Why they would start WWIII NOW of all times is pretty unlikely, but that's also personal opinion. And yeah, Syria claims it wasn't Assad who used the sarin gas on Tuesday, and just so many other things. Everyone is pissed about something

*now
EXACTLY, LMFAOOOOO
I suspected people were only spreading it around because they have disdain for the current POTUS. but conservatards are also rejoicing about shooting missiles into the s---hole because some will blindly allow him to do anything. I don't have much of problem with Trump, but the whole thing was stupid.
Exactly. People aren't exactly being level-headed about it. -
SCREM
YES
Like, look, I am pretty sure Assad was the ass who did that to his own people, and I do agree maybe we should have tried something to help. BUT 59 TOMAHAWK MISILES SEEMS REALLY OVERKILL??? I know bio-chemical warfare is illegal in war or whatever, but they did that to their own people so it's also hard for people to justify if America had the right to do that? Like it's all opinion? And it's hard to even try to form an opinion really because every f---ing thing I've looked st contradicts something else I've seen and so it's just a big giant hole of "lol wtf who's to blame bro?" Like what even, Jesus Christ. -
sounds like my dad is going to need to get out of the army lol

I'm sitting on the fence here. I don't personally believe that Assad is behind the gas attacks, and believe Trump is making a mistake in retaliating, but I'm going to wait to see if he continues his assaults against Syria before denouncing him. If it's a one off thing, I can reasonably believe that it was a knee jerk reaction he was forced into. The big clincher will be if he listens to the rebels and supplies them with anti-aircraft missiles. At that point, you better start digging your bomb shelters.
Considering the airbase he bombed was warned beforehand and that very little actual infrastructure was damaged as well, I don't feel this will escalate much more than it has.
I mean, for f---s sake, you guys have been fighting wars in the Middle East for nearly sixteen years, and what do you have to show for it? Just get out already, you lost. Why are you letting something as simple as another dead child pull you back into the war? -
Yeah, I do agree, Trump probably shouldn't have gone off and done that so soon. We've been fighting this war for almost two decades now and it's been about as successful as the war on drugs and all it's done is got people killed and made just about everyone hate America. But if what I heard about countries like Germany and France agreeing with what Trump did, its hard to say if all this will stop. It would be hard to say regardless, as Trump seemed to instantly change his views and made actions almost with the flip of a switch.
What a big problem is, is that America goes in to the Middle East where there are countries basically ruled by dictators, we take them out, then we pull a "lol whoops sorry guys, gotta worry about our own people," then poof, we're gone. Then we have these people without a leader, it's crazy, and then the people with the power (which, guess what, were friends of the dictator) put themselves in power and we've got problems on our hand because we just basically killed their leader and left them to hang. OR we do put a leader in place, like there was in Egypt, they don't want democracy, they kill the new leader implemented, and a s--- ton of people die.
What happened in Syria wasn't anything that America hadn't done before, as America gets s--- for civilian casualties all the time, but suddenly now everyone is freaking out about it? Or, hey, maybe there's more to it that I don't know, as the UN did have a meeting Thursday about it, and I'd like to think they wouldn't have a meeting unless there was something very important to discuss.
But at this point, with the internet blowing things up more than they are, and news channels leaning way one way or way the other, who the f--- knows what's going on. Politics like this are easily bent to get people to freak out about something, but it's been this way for years America just needs to leave when they find out what to do about the oil, because apparently that's something of a problem, I've heard?
America makes enough oil to hold us over for about 20 years but because of the situation in the Middle East we give a lot of it to them, which is a big big BIG reason why we're in so much debt and trouble because we don't get the money we need for them and after so many years of doing it everyone is f---ed in terms of oil and stuff like that. But apparently we're also turning to Japan now for oil, because they need to sell it and we need more because we won't stop selling ours, so who the f--- knows.
But yeah, those are just some of my views on it. I don't blame you for being on the fence, this whole thing is a clusterf---. -
WW3 is close lolol
