Thread Topic: Why do you think people take their own lives?
-
Is it because of the people who bully them and push them over the edge, or is it completely there choice and fault because they didn't get the help they easily could have gotten?
What do you think? -
*their. Not there.
-
Well, sometimes it's for the bullying so yes, that's one reason. Many people all have different reasons though. Some people are traumatized from something seriously bad that happened to them, such as someone raped them, or they were kidnapped, and the memories from that flood back and it's hard for them to think of something else. Such as nightmares and flash backs that people in the army sometimes have from the people they saw die, or the people that they killed. Personally, there are many reasons why people take their lives; bullying, traumatized, or just being in one f---ed up situation to where they'd rather die than live.
-
Who do you think is at fault and/or is responsible for the death though, is it the bullies, trauma, bad situation, etc., or is it the person themselves?
-
Well, haha, that's kind of a hard question. The person who takes their life may blame it on those reasons, when they're the ones who really take their life. Though, it's pretty low for a bully to make someone feel as if they want to take their own life, or for someone else to traumatize another person or put them in a s---ty situation, but it's their own choice wither or not to take their life or not.
Really that's kind of a hard question for me, personally, to answer. I'm sure someone else could come up with a for sure answer, but I can see it going both ways for who's at fault and/or responsible.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's both faults I guess. If they weren't ever put in that situation, i don't think they'd even have the thought of doing it. But since they are, then they're the ones who take their own life, and no one is making them and forcing them to kill themselves. So I guess it's kind of a combination of the two. -
Interesting answer, I can see why you say that.
-
God I just hoped that made sense xD I'm never very good at explaining things.

Fully comprehensible. Nothing you need to worry about.

Big question. I think when you consider how awful the human race is as a whole, it shouldn't come as any surprise that some people simply want out. People don't just shake off the horrible things that are said and done to them, especially if they have to live with the insults of others on a daily basis. So that covers people under the age of 18. In other cases, especially in young adulthood, isolation is probably the greatest reason. Some people with terminal illnesses choose suicide over a long and painful march towards death.
I think that covers it. -
I guess the person feels like that's their choice and maybe there's nothing that would've helped them so it's not others' fault for not helping. I don't think its anyone's fault though - except if there was bullying or something similar

Freedom from the judging eyes and cruel ways of society.

emmajamme2 Newbiepeople commit suicide for a vast array of reasons. you can't say that everyone who takes their life does it for the same reason.

Of course, Emma, which is why I reworded it.
-
emmajamme2 Newbieeven with your rewording there's still no possible way to lump everyone into the same answer
