There is literally no chance that that will ever help anything
-
Le Bourgeoisie NewbieLet them die. More Arctic for us rich humans!
-
Why is there no chance? I don't believe that, and besides we have to be hopeful, optimistic and least try.
-
Instead spend your time making it so you have a hope at one day being in a position where you can actually do something about it.
-
I understand that too but there are people who do have the power to do something - and a huge amount of ordinary people signing a petition has worked for things before.
-
Like when? XD you have a better chance of winning the lottery
-
If not then why do petitions exist? No harm in trying.
-
"Petitions" exist because people are generally satisfied with their social or socioeconomic class, but are none the less affected by cross social sensationalists trends that urge action from the very classes of people who are most given to inaction.
In real life, petitions exist as aids to organizations such as governments and businesses, to gauge public need in a controlled manner.
The type of petition signing your doing, is basically the same throwing a bunch of words on a page that are less than eloquent and calling it poetry by claiming its freeform.
Is it worth a try? No. If you have so little interest in the subject of your compassion, that all you can think to do is sign a petition, then give up on it. Your emergy can be better spent on other things. -
Dude seriously? I just got emailed that link and thought I might as well share it, it takes about 30 seconds to add yourself to it so its hardly a wasteof time. I don't know how else to help at the moment, I mean without being a person of power what do you suggest right now? How have you changed anything you believe it then? It's not a good attitude that you try to find peoples attempts of trying as pointless.
-
Spend your time working towards becoming a aperson of power.
-
Sure that's what I hope, but it doesn't take time to sign that in the meantime. Makes you wonder why people in those positions don't seem to do anything to help when they can.
-
I'll save you the wonder-because they do, do things to help when they can and when something actually NEEDS help. Most things are a lot more difficult and often less important then people realize.
-
And the Arctic doesn't need help?
-
Probably not. And if it does, I doubt theres anything that can be done for it that would be of any help to humanity. And otherwise, why should we? XD
