k now tell me wat u think -
Yeah, sorry, but any time I see the term "NWO", my bulls--- detector goes f---nuts.
-
I dont wanna look that up, but I've noticed what this government is doing. and its just gonna keep getting worse.
-
I agree with Tongue. NWO = bulls---
But I do think something is up with the government. Governments in general become power hungry. It's a vicious cycle that can't be ended. People are greedy. I don't think whatever is going on is even half as big as conspiracy theorists say, but I do think its the natural cycle of people being put in power and wanting more. -
Things like the NWO and the Illuminati are just simplified explanations for dumb, uninformed people. Here's what is really going on: there are essentially four branches of the federal government now. The fourth is technically part of the executive branch. I'm talking about all the appointed Cabinet members and heads of federal agencies. People get mad when Obama says he didn't know what was happening at the IRS or the Department of Justice, but the truth is that these federal agencies are autonomous from the presidency and collectively wield more power than the president. So there's one explanation.
Another explanation is that our government has been slowly bought and sold by special interests over time because our government gives so many subsidies to agriculture, energy companies, military contractors, and now even Wall Street. This is a government for the rich and by the rich.
If you really want to boil the government's issue down to anything, I'd say those two things are good places to start. Personally I think this country is headed towards a dictatorship, mostly because I think most people in this country would actually prefer it to the democracy we currently have. -
Yes, I do think it is a free country. It might not seem so, but think about it. We're not communist like China and the Soviet Union. We're not in a monarchy like England and such countries. We have the right to vote. We can choose what ocupation we want in life. We have the rights supported by the First Ammendment (freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of press, etc.). We have the complete right to an education. And, there's a reason that we're great at sports; everyone that plays them does it for the love of the sport, not because their government told them to do it and go to the olympics (or any other major sports competition). There are more things but I think I've proven my point.
-
No more or less free than we ever were I imagine.
Special privileges for those on top, and special restrictions for those on bottom have never and are not going away. but as far as the common man's concered, American Freedoms about the same as it was when we started. only we've also added some new rights for women, some for "minority" ethnicity, and one or two for gays and whatnot..well not really. but at least the numbers of lynching have gone down.
that being said, I agree with tongues explanation of the distribution of power.
The government is in most instances synonymous with corporation and therefore represents mostly individual interests. -
China's not communist >_>
-
although China has other political parties the CPC or Communist Party of China is the largest and ruling factor in chinese government. If I'm not mistaken they are the party that governs the majority of military civil office in china.
-
military AND civil offices*
-
They're led by a party which has "Communist" in the name, that doesn't necessarily mean Communist. They may have elements in their economy, but in reality they're capitalist as hell. Filled with corporations and similar things. "Communist state" in itself is an oxymoron, true communism has no state.
-
granted, Chinese government is every bit as corrupt as U.S. is, that much I would never argue with.
But communism like capitalism is unstable and inefficient as hell in it's pure form. yes they've made a few adjustments to stay afloat; as for example developing the parties at all, but you can't completely disassociate them from communism for a few tweaks since they don't fall into socialism directly either. and no matter what can be said, the dues and donations collection sufficiently enough unlike capitalism to make a barrier.
Although there is a part of china that is experimenting with democracy or capitalism or something like that. I don't know much of anything about it, but you may be interested in looking it up.
