what's your opinion on teacher kids about sex and contraception in school. and reproductive health clinics like Planned Parenthood? :)
-
I'm in favor of all of those things.
-
I'm in favor. I'm not going to have sex before marriage..but others will. If you're going to do it anyway you should use protection.
-
WHY NOT. What harm does it do to allow sexual freedom?
-
Sure,kids need to know.

How I was taught was fine, except I went to a catholic school so I learned abstinence, didnt learn what a condom was or anything. but ya kids gotta learn the stuff, and a lot of parents are afraid to be the ones teaching it.
but the fact that the government wants to start teaching sex ed in first grade, oh hell no. what happened to innocence?? -
Sigh....well I agree on telling kids about it just not in the first grade or kindergarden. I was told about sex at 8 years old.....*shivers*hated that talk. then I watched a video in 5,7 th grade. I tired to forget about that stuff. But teaching it to little kids seriously? Thats wrong they are innicent. okay I have a neice who says every word under the sun but I know she is to young for that stuff.

I think it's good once a kid reaches that age, but if they're little kids it's stupid.

I believe children should be tought puberty from an early age (you can get your period at 8). I see this as extremely important.
I also believe children should be tought body parts such as chest, breasts, bottom, penis etc. It should be made clear that these body parts are for that particular person and no one else is to touch them. If someone touches them, they should let a responsible adult know (someone they feel comfortable with). I believe this must be tought a very early age. From 4.
However, I do not believe 5 year olds need to know about condoms and sex. Let them remain innocent to a certain extent. By year 3 I believe they should know. They will investigate themselves so it would be better if they knew beforehand as to not get the wrong idea about sex. -
FLgirl92 JuniorOne thing is clear: telling kids not to have sex doesn't work. It is going to happen. So unless schools want more teenagers with kids or STDs, sex ed needs to be taught and birth control needs to be available. As for abortion, I don't like it and I think it is unfortunate, but it is better than having a child you aren't prepared to care for.

I'll have a child at 17.
-
^Wolf, okay, no. Trust me, that is way too young for a child.
-
Yeah. We learned about puberty and periods in the 4th grade. Girls learned about period in the fourth grade (because we generally mature faster) and guys learned about their puberty stuff in 5th grade. And in 6th grade we all learned about how babies are conceived and correct information (nothing really about sex and condoms). I think that the sex talk should be in 8th or 9th grade when they're already at a decent point in puberty because of those raging hormones >.> it's like adults completely forget they were teens too

Carri I was kidding. Jeesh.
I learned about sexand body parts at 2 years old.... Love my brother.
