s---, I just spent the last twenty minutes staring at Bambi's reply and trying to wrap my head around the logic used. Now I just feel unfulfilled. That's how they get you, they make you think like them until you realise you're an idiot.
Also, I understand the last post in this thread was nearly four years ago, but I feel that now it's on the front I may as well post.
I also think everyone was a little too hasty on their stances. I mean, I'm fully for animal cruelty. Who wouldn't be, smart ass animals think they're better than me. They're not better than me. I'm better than them. Are you saying that a dog is better than you? No way. Get real. If a dog didn't want to be abused, than why didn't it evolve sentience and language? Checkmate. Besides, it's not like an animal can really feel pain. -

But in all seriousness animal cruelty is a FAR backseat problem.
Sensationalist writing aside, take a step back and consider some of the problems we face: corporatism, a habitat which is rapidly being destroyed, a bankrupting hegemony, vast starvation throughout the less industrial worlds, and poisonous food being served to the everyone else.
These problems are major, and they can kill you. They can kill all of us.
And if thats not enough for you, look at some of the small problems: prison, how are we supposed to pay our own money to support an ever growing criminal population? Animal habitat destruction, animal cruelty is pretty irrelevant if they're all dead. Hell even HUMAN cruelty. Human education, political corruption, Energy crisis, high violence rates, illusionary freedom, godamn, if you could remove any one of these problems by the torture of animals i would personally hold the knife.
But as it stands, thats unnecessary, just realize what a non issue this really is.
