My family raised me that I never express my opinions and they told me mine didn't matter and I had no right to say what's on my mind, when I tried to object or express my opinion, they told me to shut up. :/

Some adults do that so they can seem more important then others. My parents are sometimes like that, but normally let me say what I believe to be true.
