"WHY DID YOU SHOOT HIM!?!?" i scream

"I would have killed you by now, trust me." I say. "Here." I give here a bit of food from my backpack.

"NO!!! YOU HURTED MINATA!!!" I run over to him, to see if he's okay.

"Sorry," I say. "Les(my mentor) can you help? Good thing I only shot his leg."

"KINA!!!! GIMME THE MECICINE!!!!"

A paracute falls down. In it is gause and some sort of wound cleaner. "Masa," I say running up to her, "look!" I hand her the parachute.

Immeadiatly, a bottle drops from the sky with minata's name on it. "imma gonna fix you minata..." I whisper while i work.

"Need help?" I ask quietly. "My mom was tye distirct nurse."

i used this medicine all the time in district eleven, buut i didn't know how to get the arrow out without hurting him. "Can you...can you get it out...?" i say to the girl.

"Yes," I say, "but it will hurt him a little."

"Okay. J-just be careful." I put my hnd on his forehead, and he looks t me and smiles.

he starts to whistle the tune that we sing in the fields at the end of the dy, and i smile back.

"we call that rue's song. have you watched the video of the 74th games?"

I sit next to him. I rub disinfectant around the arrow. "This is gonna hurt," I say. I pull out the arrow slow and carefully. I put more disinfectant on and wrap the wound in gause.
