Pellini took Chip with her. She grabbed the chalk and went on the driveway. She set Chip next to her and drew flowers,bunnies,and angel wings. Then she saw a shadow. Pellini looked up and saw the neighborhood bullies agian. "Well,well,well." said one of the guys. "Nobody is here to protect you now. Give us the rabbit!" Pellini grabbed Chip and held him close to her. "Or else." another guy said.

"We'll adopt him as well" their mother said.

"Why not?" their mother said, looking very confused "The orphanages job is to find homes for children"

Pellini's eyes widen. "What should I do?" Pellini thought. She held Chip closer and closer to her.

"No... the mistress won't allow it."

"But why wont the mistress allow it?" their mother asked

"She keeps us as slaves"

"Oh, honey" their mother said, hugging Alice again. Their father walked in with the phone in hand and said "I've got the police on the phone, they want to hear about what goes on over at the orphanage from Alice."

Alice stepped back in fear.

"It's okay darling" their mother said "They're just going to ask you a few questions. I promise I will not let you go back to the orphanage."
