I sure hope that gets fixed soon. D:
I soon reached the pharmacy. The automatic doors swung open in front of me and I entered. I walked towards the back of the store, looking through the coolers. Gatorade. SALE. $.80/each. Good enough. I took one bottle. -
Yeah, so do . DD:
I looked around the store, not really in a hurry to get back home. -
I started walking up towards the register. It seemed that my eyes were always glued to the ground nowadays. It was habit.
-
I bit my lip and grabbed some cloths off the rack, then slowly walked towards the counter.
-
The cashier gave me a weird look before checking me out. I placed the Gatorade on the counter and drummed my fingers on the counter top. I heard someone walk up behind me.
-
I was looking down at the ground, refusing to look up at people.
-
I turned to leave after paying. "I know you," the cashier called out. "You're that kid from high school, Abe or something... You're the dropout." I cringed. I hated being recognized.
"It's Ace," I replied through clenched teeth.
"Oh, heh. Sorry then." -
I looked up, I recognized that voice. It was the boy from last night, the one who told me to stop cutting.
-
I glanced back at the cashier. The person who had been behind me, it was her... The cutter. I sighed, holding her gaze while still addressing the person behind the counter. "Don't be."
-
I cocked my head to the side, holding his gaze. As if asking You're a dropout?
-
I held her gaze for a moment longer before my eyes quickly flickered to the ground. Without another word, I turned and walked out of the store. The automatic doors shut behind me with a small mechanical whir.
-
I sighed and turned towards the cashier. Paying for my cloths and hurrying to my car.
-
I opened the bottle and took a sip of the red liquid. It was disgustingly sweet, but at least it was something.
-
I unlocked the car door and went inside. Not starting the car, just sitting there for a moment.
-
I walked past a car, glancing up at it for a second. It was nice. Once I saw who the driver was I immediately looked away, turning my head opposite to her as well.
