xD
"Now, Miss Torrington, how long has the abuse been going on?"
"For about two years."
"Would you say it has gotten progressively worse?"
I bit my lip. "Yes." We reached a good rhythm, my answers coming after a pause just long enough to let the question sink in. I could sense Adolf's hidden anger, as well as my brother's eyes boring into the side of my face. -
Sighing quietly, I looked at Laci, then at the Judge. They did look awfully alike.
-
After I was done, the defense denied the opportunity to do a cross examination. I inhaled a shaky breath and made my way back to my seat. I had to force myself to not look at Adolf.
"Defense, would the defendant like to testify?" -
Name: Jackson Torrington
Age: 23
Other: City judge, Laci's brother.
He looks older than that. ._. But you get the idea. -
She wouldn't look at me, but I couldn't help to look at her. What drove her to do this? I had always thought she Loved me, but I could obviously see THAT wasn't true. And it was all Travis' fault. I balled my hands into fists.
-
I wanted to stop this. I wanted to say that I was clumsy and I fell... I wanted to stand up and say that this was all a mistake... But I couldn't. I really couldn't.
"Yes. We, the defense, would like to call the defendant to the stand." -
I'm making Adolf's last name Beilschmidt. *SHOT*
I swallowed hard. I Needed to find a way out of this. I looked back at Judge Torrington nervously. -
xD Lovely.
My brother nodded coldly. "Proceed." The bailiff swore Adolf in and he took a seat in the chair. I glanced up, our eyes meeting for about a second. -
Like Gilbert's.
Laci, she looked so innocent, so sad. She was one damn good actor. And I couldn't stand it. -
I quickly looked away, biting my lip.
"Mr. Beilschmidt, did you ever abuse your girlfriend?" It was clear the attorney wasn't prepared for the court session. He was flustered and he spoke at a rapid pace. Jackson noted that he tended to fiddle his thumbs and constantly glance over at his co-counsel for approval. This case was already over. The attorney glanced at Adolf, waiting for his response. -
I was going to speak, but I paused. Lie or not lie? "..Yes, I did."
-
"And would you say these actions ever put her life in danger?"
I clenched my fists. I needed to leave; this was all too much. -
"No." I answered, truthfully.
-
"What caused you to carry out these actions, Mr. Beilschmidt?"
"Hang in there," my attorney whispered. "We'll ask for a five minute recess after this." -
I bit my lip. "Ive been diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the past. When I get angry I use physical means to calm down."
