I looked around to see where we were. "Where are we?" I asked, not recognizing the scenery.

He sighed. It was familiar, he just couldn't quite remember. "Uh..."

I glanced at him.

"I don't remember. I'll think of it." He looked over at her.

I nodded.

He smiled a bit.
(Hey, I just remembered that my friend's birthday party was yesterday...) -
I looked over at him.
(And...?) -
He smiled a little more.
(That's it. I'm glad I didn't go.) -
I raised my eyebrows.
(Why...?) -
"I'm glad you let me come."
(She becomes rather annoying and egoistical within two weeks of her birthday usually, and says things such as "I'm fourteen" every five minutes. She also freaks out about presents like expected from a five year old, and in between the lines it usually screams "THIS IS ABOUT ME." And then here I am, not even wanting a birthday to celebrate. I don't know how we're friends.) -
I smiled. "I'm glad you wanted too."
(Ah.) -
"I couldn't let you leave without me. You'd miss me too much," he said, joking a bit about the last part.
(Yeah. Also avoiding Facebook, where she'll have the millionsomething pictures and status updates.) -
I grinned. "Totally." I joked.
(I hate people who update their status every ten minutes with things nobody cares about.) -
"I think I'd miss you a lot, too, though," he said, more serious.
