Eric had already dialed the number which he guessed was her mom. "Hello? Is this Ashley's mom?" Receiving a satisfying response, he continued. "This is her friend Eric. She wants to talk to you." He pushed the phone into her hands, smiling.

I gave him a look and said into the phone,"Hi Mom. What's up?"

My mom said,"Well I'm in Italy right now,waiting for a flight. What's with you?" I said,"Well, I'm fine. Nothing's really going on here." She asked,"Is Eric, somebody that I should know about for advice reasons?" "Umm...Mom...that's a really weird question." I heard a door unlock and said quickly,"Mom, dad's home, I need to go." "Why she said?" "He doesn't know I'm talking to you. I love you. Bye." I hung up. Once dad noticed the phone was gone he'd kick my ass.

Eric heard Ashley's dad come in. He stopped smiling.

"Perfect timing,"I said sarcastically, hearing dad coming up the stairs.

Eric put his pointer finger to his lips, smiled a bit, and disappeared.

Still having the phone in my hand I quickly put it under my pillow. My dad came into the room. "Ashley, where's the phone?" he asked angrily."You know this is one of those things in the note that I left you this morning that I wouldn't like,"He said advancing towards me.

Eric appeared in the doorway, staring at Ashley's father as if he were an annoying child Eric would have to spend the day with against his will.

I looked to Eric then to my dad who was only three feet away from me by then.

Eric walked up behind Ashley's dad. Eric was a few inches taller than him. "You do realize," he started, arms crossed, a cold stare on his face, "that if you hurt her, I'll hurt you twice as hard."

My dad turned around to look at Eric and said,"Who are you? You have no right to be in my house uninvited." As he spoke I got a few feet of distance between us.
