Uhm, Durango right? San Juan, Atontonilco, Mexico.. Yep, we're gonna talk about there.
So apparently, near my old home, there was a hidden gold mine. It's rater big. So just recently, about a week ago, they uncovered it. Yesterday, we got a call.
So to story is that once people found about it, a lot of people began to go to Durango. So now, all kinds of people have gone there to dig up gold. Americans (There aren't many Gringos in Durango,, but damn they're raiding it up now), Canadians, Salvadorans (if they weren't caught and killed by the 'narcochist' Mexicans), Italians (There were already a lot of Italians there to start with though lol), Chinese (same as Italians), Japanese, Frenchies (and same as Italians as well), Spaniards.. You name it guys. It's a real hell now.
So they've been destroying a lot of our beautiful land and killing many of the animals near my home. There are around 7 (probably more actually) other homes being affected, and in Durango the houses aren't set the same way as in America. The houses are about.. less then a mile apart from each other? But they're not practically stuck together like here in America. Point is though, it's a lot of land and animals being killed.
Anyway, so in return the miners are giving each family 250,000 pesos (approximately $20,000 American dollars for those that don't know the Mexican money unit) of 'dinero recompuesto' (I don't know how you say that in English, and you guys won't be able to use a translator for that because it's Durango slang. Basically it's money they use to pay back or whatever.)
What sucks though is that my uncle must be with my mother to claim the money (remember, my mom owns the house now but in Mexico women aren't supposed to be getting money without a man because they can be easily spotted, killed, and robbed, and my mom can't do this with my dad because the property isn't even partially my father's.) and my uncle doesn't have papers. He can enter Mexico, but he can't come out (not just that, but my uncle was stricken with polio when he was little. Because of that he almost died, but he did survive. Sad thing is that he is very weak to the cold, and now as an adult he can't possibly bear it.)
Uhg. I was expecting it to be like old times. You go outside and it's quiet and shiz. In the night, you would be able to hear coyotes. In the day, the only sounds you can hear are other animals. Otherwise it's quiet.
But no, now with all these people seeking for gold, we have to lose are land, and hell we are poor enough already with it. I don't care if they give us the $20,000, I don't want it and neither would my parents. It can't make up for all the poor animals and land they killed. -

Oh my gawd! Those are beautiful you know. I heard they were so amazing that one of people died of the amazing pollutions because they just stuck their feet in there.

Yeah, sadly in my country we do it a lot. We're not the strongest of people, and since El Salvador is our neighbor and it's very poor and weak, we pick on there. >.>' I'm kinda ashamed of my people lol, we're so cowardly sometimes. -
