"I thought my name was Sullivan." He smiled. "When I was in first grade, I said I was going to destroy my school because I hated my teacher. And I kind of accidentally turned into a wrecking ball and my parents freaked out. That's when we found out I could shapeshift."

Chase laughed. "...really? That's amazing! Much more fun than how I found out." She stared at the stream, focusing her eyes on the constant ripples. -
"They thought I had some disease or something..." Sullivan looked over at Chase.

She swallowed. "Well...you're not the only one. Humans, they just don't understand. They can only see their petty problems, their boring little world. They don't see anything interesting, anything...better." She put a hand on his shoulder. "They'll never understand. Don't beat yourself uo about what you can't control. But...I'm sorry."
Hmm....is it too soon? Should I move my hand? -
"Amen to that..." Sullivan smiled a bit. He wasn't sure exactly how to respond to her hand on his shoulder. It wasn't a bad thing, though...

Chase removed her hand, afraid of crossing the line. "So, you got a backstory? Or is "Sullivan" the only thing on your records?" She smiled.

"Went to normal elementary and middle schools and stuck with the same people since preschool. Moved here when I was two. Need more details, or are you good with that?" Sullivan smiled back.

"I'm good with whatever you give me." Chase smiled. "Chase Matthews, went to a top notch military private school. Had black hair, but was accidentally exposed to extreme radiation when I was 14. Hair turned platinum, skin and body stayed the same. Yet, I've been shapeshifting since I was 7. My Dad still thinks we have a cat named Minny..." She chuckled, thinking back.
