(Kay, well, when you do, you'll understand. :} )
The blood settled, and Sulfur was satisfied to see that none had ended up on her gun this time. She turned happily to leave, and stopped cold.
In the doorway stood a young girl, tears running down her face. She raised a gun with trembling hands, and pulled the trigger with a weak finger.
Sulfur was too surprised by finding the girl there to react at first. The pain of a bullet in her right shoulder snapped her out of her daze. Her blood trickled down her arm, and the girl seemed surprised that the bullet had even made contact.
Sulfur winced and held the wound with her left hand, quickly running at the girl. She grabbed her throat with her right hand, pinning her to the wall. -
(And I'm gonna change Ren's age to eight.)
-
The men were all dead. I jumped down from the tree and let the robot land in my hands. It folded up into a small box and fit in my pocket.
I smiled and walked inside, up to the third floor. -
The girl struggled against Sulfur's grasp, but failed.
Sulfur gasped as more pain lanced down her arm.
"What the Hell did you do that for?" she growled. The girl glared at her.
Sulfur looked at her. She looked a lot like the man she had just shot.
Her eyes widened.
Oh God, he had a daughter. -
(We may be assassins, but we have morals. We were dismissed from killing targets tat had young children, so Eathes just didn't tell us that Ryan Igrit had a daughter. Who's age I am again changing- this time to 7.)
-
I kept walking, then saw Sulfur and a girl. The girl was pinned against the wall. "Sulfur? I thought the target was a guy. And if not, aren't you usually quicker?"
-
(Ah.)
-
Sulfur turned toward Gemma, her eyes wide.
She released the girl, taking the gun, and smirked.
"Don't insult me. Of course the target is already dead. This-" she said, motioning toward the girl. "Would be his daughter." -
My eyes widened. I looked from Sulfur, to the girl, then to Sulfur. "T-there must have been some mistake... She's only a little kid..."
-
"There can be no mistake. For God's sake, they wanted this guy dead enough to dishonor our agreement." she growled, disgusted.
Somehow, she felt that the Elder hadn't been laughing so much at her injury, than at her willingness to kill this target that she had not been properly informed of.
She scowled. "What are we gonna do now? I already eliminated our target." -
"Well, we can't just leave her here... now that she knows it was us..." I thought for a moment. "Should we take her with us?"
-
The girl glared at both of them. She stood up and stepped closer to where her father's body lay.
"I'm gonna kill you." she said, hiding her tears.
Sulfur stared sadly at her, then winced again. She clutched her wound tighter.
"Damn it. The Elder..." she growled. "He's a dead man! When I get my hands on him.."
She could see that the girl would be very hard to keep track of if they did take her with them. What reason did she have to cooperate with them? -
"Good luck." I walked over to the girl. I whispered softly to her. "Hey, I'm sorry. We didn't know your father was a father. If we had, this might not have happened. Please, please forgive us."
-
The girl glared hatefully at Gemma.
"But it did happen. And I'm gonna kill you! You wait until I learn how to shoot right!" she threatened.
Sulfur walked over to stand behind Gemma. She leaned close to her ear.
"Yeah, right, the kid shot me. Thanks for your concern, but I'm alright!" she said sharply. She knew they couldn't leave the kid alone. -
I looked up at Sulfur. "I didn't notice..." I looked back at the girl. "Hey, I'm sorry. But we didn't know you existed."
