I tapped the window but said nothing. My teeth were clenched so tightly I thought my jaw just might snap. I was just about ready to fling myself out of the car and finish the business Dad so longingly wanted to.

I kept my mouth shut and didn't bother unclenching my teeth.

"Sam, Quit. Doing. That." I said, getting irritated again. If I didn't respond to her, It'd be that her life was over. If she didn't respond to me, it'd be nothing?! It didn't work that way.
