Indeed, that's how I treat what theory I know. Which is not a particularly large amount, but what I do know has helped for another perspective toward conceptualizing what I'm doing. Still on the fence about whether I want to learn more, honestly
I looked for the video I was thinking of, the only one I've watched before was more about the ways in which it's hard to learn than the history of why. I'm probably thinking of a different video for that part but I can't find said other video, I'm sorry. Oh, yeah! If you find in person teaching better then that would probably make the process a lot better.
Oh, nice. You'll definitely like me these days then XD
Yeah! Sound design is a lot more bottom-up focused though (as in, how sound is generated and put together into whatever form you want it to take) so it may be less focused on musicality but it can also be hard to learn about. It's got a broader range of assumptions (really only the ones generated by the physics of sound itself) but that can easily make it feel a bit aimless by comparison. Like floating deep in space, you have little to show which direction is which. But I was swallowed by the synthesizers while I learned, so now the void is my home...
I love it when you need something and then it just appears haha. -
Oh that's okay! I'll just probably google the history of FL Studio later on or something lol
The physics of sound itself huh? That sounds right up my alley because I love science!! When you first met me I think I wasn't much of a science person cause I was still learning like... basic science concepts in school xD
But now I love not only biology but all of it I love to continually learn about it.
Physics is something I've had to study more and will have to keep studying because the story I'm currently writing is a bit dependent on believable science-fiction.
Parallel universes and whatnot. Lol.
I probably won't go into the science behind it that much in the story considering it's something most people consider impossible anyway xD -
This may seem weird but I think parallel universes are real in a spiritual sense. Kind of like that one Rick and Morty episode where they break time. It's like, every decision does lead down a new pathway and I feel like God or a higher power would know about all of these different realities and maybe even sees them. Who knows!
-
i just used a hair straightener to straighten my money xD
it works lmaooo -
That works too I suppose XD
Yeah! Some of the fundamental stuff that you learn for sound design is like how sound waves add together to make what we hear and stuff, it's very cool! Oh, awesome! I'm the same way, love learning about it. I've grown with time too, I read astrophysics research papers on a regular basis now haha
Yeahhh, sci-fi will do that to a person XD It's all about striking a balance between plausibility and wonder (or horror, for that sector of the genre...). A lot of the reason I've been reading those papers is for my scifi, outside of just wanting to know more.
Well, we don't necessarily know if parallel universes are real, so a lot of people just assume that unless/until we discover them they're probably not real, but there is a major way to interpret quantum mechanics in which they would exist, and that interpretation actually fixes several things we otherwise have little to no explanation for beyond the assumption that it happens since that's what it looks like. I'm not entirely confident that that means that is the correct interpretation but it certainly makes more sense to me personally.
In some ways that episode was actually surprisingly good at showing what actual quantum mechanical multiverse would be like, except that instead of uncertainty being the thing that splits the universe, it's actually the attempted loss of uncertainty. And yeah, I see no reason why a higher power wouldn't be able to know about and/or see them, if one universe as ridiculously huge as ours is manageable then multiple is probably not an issue either lol -
Hey that's awesome. I'm glad you are still into all that stuff I remember you always being one of the smartest people here xD
Right! It's mind blowing to think about and it still goes over my head a little bit lol
The sci-fi story I'm trying to write is suppose to be a graphic novel/webcomic, so I have to practice my art heavily. It might take me years to complete but I'm determined to do it so at least I can say I created a webcomic some day! -
We can go to dinner in Paris
And we'll be trends in fashion like Jackie Onassis
And I'll keep takin' antidepressants
And we can drive away from this adolescence -
The thought of all the aspects of my personality is daunting
too daunting for me to think about right now but it's all I'm thinking about lol -
Lack of funds can really make someone depressed af
I know I'll be happier when I save up a little bit more money and am not scraping by bill to bill
Being an adults sucks -
Yep, honestly science and space specifically have long been my identifying trait and that has only gotten more true. Oh idk about that XD
Well to be fair anything involving quantum goes over most people's heads, haha
Oh awesome! I wish I had the art skills to do something like that. Good luck with it :-D -
I wish I had the art skills toooo!! Lmaooo it's so hard sometimes but it really does take practice like everyone says.
I have like this innate passion for art ever since I was a kid so the passion and talent helps but I think anyone can learn how to draw in their own unique way -
The new Barbie movie is coming out soon and I have to see it in theaters *_*
It's gonna be hilarious I just know it -
I suppose. I mean, I can draw, but it's all space stuff. Planets, stars, nebulas, galaxies, barren landscapes, spaceships but even those I'm not too good at. But anything biological I just cannot, always looks terrible. I probably could still learn but it would be extremely uncomfortable.
-
I get that xD
I LOVE drawing people/humans
It's one of my most favorite things to draw but I have to practice landscapes and nature more. -
so we are kind of opposite maybe, I love drawing biological things and am bad at drawing nature things
