When I was homeless one of the things I missed the most was having something that I could call my own. I missed having a closet and I couldn't wait to have my own bathroom and to choose what color towels were in it. Between couch surfing and sleeping in tent, I just wanted to feel like something belonged to me. There's a lot of benefits to going without modern luxuries for some time but security is something you take for granted.
