From experience seeing this happen in other jobs they keep the one that’s there the longest because they have a close relationship to them and the new hire is the odd one out. Unlesss the rare occasion where they are both scary good at sales. Even then they sometimes scalp both

This is why you never ever date or do anything romantic with your coworkers no matter how weirdly attractive you think they are. Not only can you get fired but also it can get messy if you both end up on bad terms
