Brie rushed into the training room. She bent down, putting her hands on her knees to support her weight as she caught her breath. Her face was a red shade from running so fast and there were beads of sweat upon her brow. She stood up straight then tugged her shirt down. She was conscious of a few people staring at the late recruit. Some were chuckling at her and some were even glaring in her direction.
Brie stepped forward as she looked around, wondering what she should do first. She wanted to make a good impression. She was nervous. She wanted to be good at this. She wanted to be the best. But could she really? She doubted her abilities.
Brie saw multiple others training for combat. There were punching bags in one corner, weights in another, There was even a spot for fencing. She uncertainly walked to the punching bags. There was a boy there with light blonde hair who was viciously pounding a large punching bag.
"Hi..." she nervously said to the boy as she strapped the leather gloves on. She hoped this would go well. -

I'm not a perfect writer either. I'm noticing a bunch of things wrong with my response. I should have formatted a couple of sentences a different way, is the first thing I noticed. -
