I get sad and miss him but then I think of all the little things he did that make my heart flutter and I feel better, just focusing on the good things instead of how I wish he was here

so I was reading a webcomic and the main couple shared a bed together and it made me think about how it feels to sleep next to the person you love and then wake up next to them in the morning. it's the warmest happiest feeling. I want to have that for the rest of my life.

I have a question
How do you know if you're close enough to someone to tell them that you tried to kill yourself recently? How do you know when that's appropriate in a friendship? Also, if it happens to be appropriate, how do you go about telling someone that?
Lately I've gotten better at social stuff but serious things like this are too complex to understand -
I feel like that's one of those things that when the time is right, you'll just.. know. And it'll come out naturally.
